3) This will bring up a new window with the PressDisplay webpage. If you are accessing the database while using the internet stations within this library branch, you will be able to immediately access the search options. However, if you are accessing the database from a personal computer or device, you will need to log in by entering your library card number.

4) On the front page, to the right there is a slideshow called The World in Pictures. These are the pictures drawn from all newspapers and magazines that readers have discovered and are actively viewing.

On the left-hand side of the screen you will see Newsline; these are articles that readers recommend. They are highly ranked articles which are easily accessible to readers by simply clicking on the article headline.

On the right-hand side of the screen readers can click on the newspapers within Librarian's Picks. This section has been specifically customized by your librarian to ensure quick access to the most frequently read publications at your library.

By simply scrolling down the page readers are able to view the most interesting Top Stories of News, Business, Sports, Entertainment and Editorial according to our readers.

To select the publication you wish to read, simply click Select Newspaper on the toolbar along the top of the screen. A drop down menu will allow you to view available titles by country, language or alphabetically. Select the publication you want to read, and its first page will be displayed in the main window. The Toolbar on the bottom of the page provides the interface for viewing thumbnails of each page in the newspaper and for quickly jumping to a new page.

6) In Advanced Search, use the “Find results” field and narrow your search with the various tools available on the left sidebar. Under “In newspapers” you can search within countries or select specific publications to search. Using “Language” you can limit your search results to a particular language. Under “Date” you can target a specific date range. After selecting your search limiters and hitting the Search button, your results will populate the main section to the right. In this example, we searched the word “library” in the Kamloops Daily News, over a couple of months.
