A SOLOMON ANOINTING

How the Solomon Anointing originated-1905068580During an evening prayer meeting, the Holy Spirit began to groan through me in prayer, applying a Solomon Anointing upon the teachers of our Sunday School Ministry. Prior to this occassion, what was to be just another ordinary weekly prayer meeting, I had not given much thought to the story of Solomon with regards to the ministry of teaching. Even directly following this meeting, I took no follow-up thought to this cry from the heart of the Spirit. It wasn’t until the following morning while in prayer that I found myself again, in the Spirit, groaning for this Solomon Anointing to be placed as a mantle upon the teaching staff of the church. Throughout that entire day, this same Spirit cry penetrated my being and reverberated in my mind until I could do nothing else but research this holy decree. I reread the accounts of Solomon and his teachings. Instantly, I knew this expression came from God, for us teachers, in this season. What is a Solomon Anointing? The Solomon Anointing is a divine manifestation to receive wisdom, gain understanding, and achieve excellence. This manifestation will bestow you with the unction to reveal the mysteries and the truthes from Heaven’s porch perfectly, with clearness and precision, for recepient acceptance as prepared under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Those who have this anointing are prudent as they see through eternal eyes and are sought out by men for their practical instructions, spiritual insights, and prophetical intuition. A Solomon Anointing is for men and women who have the desire to leave a legacy through the healing and sanctifying power of the Word of God to those who will listen. Why a Solomon Anointing?God has not called you into the ministry as a teacher of His Word to fail. In contrast, God wants to establish your footing and secure your position in the work He has called you to, the work of a teacher. That through your ministry of building up the people of faith, the kingdom of God can be advanced and the things of the Enemy will be destroyed. As Solomon received a kingdom with divided leadership and confused constituency, the role and need of a teacher was in high demand; and this same demand is evident in our faith community today, thus the teaching ministry is required in this season. As a Sunday School Ministry, we have gone through, in just a short amount of time, a series of changes; some which were good and some which brought pain and sorrow. Changes that produced disappointment and changes that brought us tremendous hope and the encouragement to continue journeying “the road less traveled” (Frost). I have heard it said that Sunday School has gone the way of the dinosaur and that teaching in the church should be replaced with a teaching style of preaching, thus having only a four-fold ministry versus a five-fold ministry in the church (Eph 4:11-12). Yet, the church in Antioch saw the need for teachers (Acts 13:1). Paul noted that the role of the teacher was divinly appointed by God (1 Cor. 12:28). All of these events we have gone through along with the scriptural basis, have only re-affirmed the solid need for highly anointed teachers who, with a fresh mantle upon them, will begin to declare His Words in this church. When is a Solomon Anointing needed? The Scripture say’s of Solomon and his ministry; “So the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.” (1 Kings 2:46b) The decree of God to Solomon, to ask what you need to lead and it shall be given you, did not come until after the ministry and kingdom was firmly established with him. God has brought us and established us through these series of events; and here in this hour is asking us what we need to lead forward as we press on to see His Kingdom Come. Why not a Solomon Anointing now?Solomon Received Wisdom “And Solomon answered all her questions. There was nothing hidden from Solomon that he could not explain to her.” (2 Chron. 9:2) As teachers, we are required to teach to both secular and spiritual people alike, who will inquire of us and test us to see how much we really know.Solomon was a young man, even a child, when he received the kingdom from his father David. It was a time of political upheaval, economic difficulty, and spiritual apathy. Solomon’s reign was put to the test and he was sovereignly placed as the king, leader, and teacher over the nation of God’s chosen people, Israel. Now as an elder and established king, he hosts one of the strongest and most powerful queens of the east, Queen Sheba. In this visit she inquires of his foretold wisdom and is more than astonished. Solomon answered with precision and clarity all her questions; even all the deep mysteries and hidden revelations. This wisdom anointing that Solomon had received from the Lord gave him the ability to witness and minister to leaders of secular nations. As teachers, we are required to teach to both secular and spiritual people alike, who will inquire of us and test us to see how much we really know. To be able to answer all their questions and leave nothing hidden is a great gift from God and one that we should and must ask for. This kind of wisdom is divine in nature, as its source is not of this world but is “far above all rule and authority and power and dominion” (Eph. 1:21a). It brings to the one who receives it, a prophetic sensitivity that sees beyond the temporal and into the hidden realm, it is written for that person that “From this time forth I announce to you new things, hidden things that you have not known” (Isaiah 48:6). It manifests itself with a confidence and authority that is secured in a holy power and drawn from the mercy wells, for as Zechariah prophesied that God “will pour out … a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy” (Zech. 12:10). Solomon received this and it was evident. As teachers, we can receive this and much more also. The question is: do you desire ‘A SOLOMON ANOINTING’?A divine wisdom from Heaven’s throne “In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, "Ask what I shall give you." (2 Chron. 1:7) The greatest wisdom ever to embrace mankind started from one question. How awesome is this passage of scripture. For Jehovah God, the Almighty, who is Holy, to come down and offer whatever one would desire is truly incredible. God came to Solomon, the newly appointed King over His people, and raised this proposition. The young and inexperienced Solomon must have watched and heard of his daddy, the magnificent King David, and so desired to be a great leader just like him, and an even better leader. His desire was to have that which would make this so; heavenly wisdom. Solomon’s answer to God’s question was right and good and thus God granted his request. Solomon must have learned something from his patriarch Abraham, that through righteousness God will bestow generational blessing, for it was written “by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring to Abraham what he has promised him” (Gen. 18:19) which is why Solomon later wrote “…but the desire of the righteous will be granted.” (Prov. 10:24b) When you ask for that which is right in the nature of righteousness, it will not be rejected unto you. The great New Testament pastor, James, so declared that “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (James 1:5) The wisdom of a Solomon Anointing comes from God through the righteous desire of His servants who unselfishly ask for it.Ability to proclaim Heavens advice God’s plans for man are great, but without teachers to explain and advise His people in them, they would fail, as no one would know His plans and thus be unable to adhere to them. The time is short and the time is now to attest to your moral fiber and spiritual makeup.“Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.” (Prov. 15:22) Another word for ‘advisers’ in this verse can be the word, teachers. Meaning, that teachers are needed to teach the plans if they are to be a success. Solomon was a great teacher and his book of proverbs provides some of the best advice known to man. This wisdom anointing that God gave to Solomon, He gave for the purpose of revealing His plans to men. This same capacity God has given to His servants throughout time. The prophets were given this ability from time to time to give both judgment and hope to the people. This ability was even given to the early Apostles to teach the plan of salvation and Gods plans for all the spiritual graces imparted unto man. God also gave this same ability to the Apostle John on the Island of Patmos when God wanted to reveal His future plans and how His children should walk and live in the midst of them (Rev. 1:1). God’s plans for man are great, but without teachers to explain and advise His people in them, they would fail, as no one would know His plans and thus be unable to adhere to them. To proclaim Heavens advice is an important ability for all Christian teachers today so that you can teach His people how to live and act both today and in the upcoming trials of life. We need a Solomon Anointing.Affirming Character and Integrity“he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity” (Prov. 2:7) God stores up for and shields those who affirm their character and integrity. In other words, the wisdom that comes from heaven is only available to those who live their lives with a holy nature and a righteous honor. Paul told his disciple Titus to “Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity” (Titus 2:7) As a teacher, your character and integrity will ultimately determine both your effectiveness with the people around you and what you will receive from the Lord. In a prayer of Moses, he cried out “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” (Ps. 90:12) Let us remember that “it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment” (Heb. 9:27). The time is short and the time is now to attest to your moral fiber and spiritual makeup. This is why the Apostle Peter exhorted us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). The verb “grow” represented both an instantaneous and progressive action. Starting now, grow, and then continuously, grow. Character and integrity will bring with it the longing to grow and receive wisdom. One who never wishes to get a heart of wisdom will never receive the Solomon Anointing. So number your days and begin now to attest to your character and integrity. As you affirm your character and integrity through your growth activity you will receive A Solomon Anointing. A spiritual discernment beyond earthly reasoning Teachers need be feasting on the deeper and hidden things of Christ and His word“Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?” (1 Kings 3:9) Solomon wanted to have the ability to discern. To discern is to see or notice something unclear, understand something and the ability to distinguish according to the Encarta Dictionary. Solomon wanted discernment to notice what is good and what is evil, to understand what is good and what is evil, and distinguish between the two. Solomon knew that the spiritual realm of good and evil impacts the natural realm and the people he would be leading. He would need to know the difference between the two in order to be effective. Likewise, teachers need to know this difference if they wish to be effective in their ministry. Teachers need be feasting on the deeper and hidden things of Christ and His word (Isaiah 48:6). The author of Hebrews said that this solid food of the mature is only available “for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” (Hebrews 5:14) To know good and evil is to know the source from whence each comes. All throughout scripture it says “for the Lord is good”. The Elder John wrote that Satan is “the Evil One” (1 John 5:19). We are to train ourselves through the practice of discerning what is from God and what is from the devil. As you mature from level to level in the power of your spiritual discernment you will cohesively break open the depths of wisdom (Prov. 3:20). How we need the spiritual discernment of A Solomon Anointing.Capacity to perceive justice Our perception of justice needs to be centered on the justification already wrought through the bloodshed of Jesus Christ.“And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.” (1 Kings 3:28) Early in King Solomon’s reign he was confronted with a dispute between two women. I remember early in my marriage when my wife and I moved to live by her family and sisters; I quickly learned not get in the middle of any disputes between her and her sisters. Either side was not going to be the right side for me no matter what I thought or believed. However, here, King Solomon had not the choice, he was required to intervene as king and bring forth justice. In an almost lose-lose situation, the wisdom anointing from heaven came forth and perceived human volition. The woman who would rather give up her child then see its death was the obvious mother. The other woman did not care if the child died, and in fact wanted it to die, because if she could not have this child then no one deserved this child. The Solomon Anointing discerned that she who desired life was declaring the truth. As teachers, we must speak the truth, of our deserving to be cut in two with a sword, in love for justice’ sake; yet “not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) Our perception of justice needs to be centered on the justification already wrought through the bloodshed of Jesus Christ. Paul said in Romans “Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.” (Rom. 5:18) All men can have life through Jesus Christ who has justified those who come to Him. For the sake of a life, will you, like the mother and like God our Father, sacrifice that which you hold most dear? It is with this sacrificial cause that Jude exhorts “And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.” (Jude 22-23) The work/ministry of a teacher is a great sacrifice. But teaching the truth brings life. The Solomon Anointing will give to the teacher, who is willing to sacrifice, the capacity from heaven to speak the truth in love and see lives transformed by the power of God’s justice, His grace.Aptitude to detect inclinations and gifts “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Ps. 37:4) As a young man, I can recall the countless lectures and questionings of my high school teachers: “what field do you want to enter after school?” “What major or concentration of study do you wish to pursue in college?” The desires of the young are often influenced by income, or fame and position. These very often travel down a road that is not suited for them and their talents, and they quickly come to a halt and then have to re-evaluate their career path. Luckily, for most, this happens during college and the switch is easily made. This exact same dilemma happens in the church. People will have the desire to do this or that; however, they have not the gift for that occupation. As teachers, we are to encourage our students in the gifts that God has imparted to them. But how are we to know what those gifts are? This is why the Solomon Anointing is so needed for Christian teachers. To discern what God is doing and where God is leading each student will greatly enhance your effectiveness in bringing them into the fullness of their calling. As each one delights themselves in their calling from the Lord they will find greater joy and peace in their own gifts. This discernment anointing to detect inclinations and gifts can only come from heavens throne.A holy Confidence and Authority “If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you…whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster” (Prov. 1:23, 33) Whenever you see the word “if” in scripture, there is usually a covenant that is being made. The Encarta Dictionary defines ‘Covenant’ as a solemn agreement or mutual promises. Basically, covenant states that each party will be responsible for one end of the agreement in order to receive the promise(s) of said agreement. In the very beginning of Solomon’s book of proverbs, he points out that there is a heavenly covenant for the receipt of the spirit of wisdom. I call this covenant the “wisdom covenant”. This ‘Wisdom Covenant’ declares that repentance at her conviction will bring an individual outpouring of the spirit of wisdom. This outpouring will be manifested by the words you will speak. Solomon has said that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Prov. 18:21). People will know that you have received wisdom by what you say? The wisdom covenant is marked by the reality that those who will listen and heed to what you speak under the anointing will have a positive and assured outcome. This is how one with a Solomon Anointing can teach, with confidence and authority, the uncompromised Word of God. For the Word of God is the greatest wisdom. This is why the Apostle Paul told the church to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom” (Col. 3:16a). Teachers, let us solemnly enter into this ‘wisdom covenant’ with the Lord and bring His church to a new level of security and peace through our teaching. From the Holy Spirit “because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.” (1 Thess. 1:5) The holy confidence and authority poured out through the wisdom covenant comes from the proving power of the Spirit of God. God desires to anoint His children with power to accomplish His work on earth. He anointed His only Son Jesus in the Jordan River with the Holy Spirit and with power (Acts 10:38). Jesus then made this promise to His disciples “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:8). The Solomon Anointing is power from the Holy Spirit of God and this anointing upon you from His Spirit will prove you to be a teacher sent by God filled with wisdom from on high (1 John 2:20). This knowledge should fill each teacher with confidence in their ministry. From the Throne of Grace “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) What one tends to be drawn too in times of want and uncertainty tells a good deal of what he trusts and depends on. Drawn to alcoholism and your dependency is on the numb feeling it gives; drawn to God’s grace and your reliance is upon His love and mercy. To define grace, a common acrostic has often been used; God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. I have proposed my own acrostic for the word mercy; My Eternal Rewards Causing a Yielding. The Solomon Anointing, and those who have it, find their authority at the throne of God’s grace and their love at the footstool of God’s mercy.Solomon Gained Understanding “the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.” (Prov. 3:14-15) Solomon gained a great thing when God granted him his request and filled him with a wisdom anointing and established with him the wisdom covenant. Now, Solomon was to fulfill the task that God had commissioned him to and called him to finish. This great task was the building of the Lords Temple. Even with the divine wisdom that Solomon had received, he knew that it wasn’t enough for the task at hand; for Solomon said: “The house that I am to build will be great, for our God is greater than all gods. But who is able to build him a house, since heaven, even the highest heaven, cannot contain him? Who am I to build a house for him, except as a place to make offerings before him?” (2 Chron. 2:5, 6) Solomon needed more than divine wisdom, he needed unparalleled understanding. Some may perceive that wisdom and understanding are identical. As a noun, the object of a subject, both wisdom and understanding have the attribute of the ability to grasp meaning and/or have knowledge. However, understanding also has an adjective classification, which is a qualifier or descriptor of an object or subject. As an adjective, understanding means to be sympathetically aware. Solomon did not need to gain more knowledge or grasping ability, as when God filled him with the anointing he had all the knowledge needed to be the wisest man ever to live. What Solomon had to gain was the awareness of who he was and who God is. Solomon finally came to the conclusion at the end that “the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher; all is vanity.” (Eccl. 12:7-8) Solomon became aware that even after all is said and done in our lifetime, God is still at work and still sits on the throne. Solomon became aware that all which he had said and done did not originate with him but with God’s sovereignty. This is why Solomon wrote that “The words of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed are the collected sayings; they are given by one Shepherd.” (Eccl. 12:11) This one shepherd is the chief shepherd, Jesus Christ. Like with Solomon, the anointing that you and I receive gives to us all the knowledge that we need. John the Elder understood this and advised us saying “But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.” (1 John 2:20) We need more than divine wisdom to accomplish the task God has called us to; we need the gain of unparalleled understanding, the humble awareness of who we are and who He is. John went on to explain that even with this anointing, it is the Spirit of God who gives us the understanding: “But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.” (1 John 2:27) Solomon came to understand that everything he said and did was given to him by God and we need to understand that our anointing comes only as we abide in Him and rely upon His spirit. The gain from this humble awareness is better than the gain of anything this world can offer, to rest and rely solely on God and His Spirit compares with nothing else. “Who is able”, “who am I”; only in Christ can ones strength be found. A Great work for a great God Teaching is a gift of God and a task from God“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Eph. 4:11, 12) The Apostle Paul lists to the Ephesians church what has been termed in the contemporary church as the five-fold ministry of the church. Paul initiates the list by stating that “He gave”. Paul was making crystal clear to the church that these offices are God-given. In 1 Corinthians 12:28 Paul specifically notates the office of the teacher as being divinely appointed by God. Then Paul states the purpose for these gifts; that it is for the equipping of the saints. Teaching is an immense labor with awesome rewards“Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.” (Ps. 51:13) Teaching is hard work. There is time, preparation, study, prayer, more study, reading, writing, and even more. With all this hard work though, David saw what its efforts would bring; it brings salvation. What an awesome blessing that comes from this work of teaching; that sinners and transgressors WILL come to the saving knowledge through Jesus Christ. There could be nothing greater than seeing the gospel message producing change and transforming lives.Teaching, a drudgery or a mission “This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.” (Mt. 13:13) Jesus took the time to teach the people who came to Him. Not only did He teach, but He sought ways to make sure they understood Him. So He used parables as one method of teaching. Jesus knew that they would not fully see or understand what He was talking about so He took it on as His mission to teach through ways that the people would be acquainted with. As teachers, it may appear a drudgery to have to figure out ways to help people understand what is being taught. But this it should not be. It should be the mission of teachers to assure that their lesson will be understood by all who listen. This is a great task for a great work.Who is able; knowing the requirements “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Prov. 22:6) Solomon understood that it is better to lead people into the right paths from childhood. This was not a new concept to the Jewish people as this was commanded of God during the 40 years of wandering. There are four references to the different age cycles in this one verse. A child is one of very young age who needs guidance and education so that when he is brought to the age of determining the way he should go, he would choose the right path, and then, when he is old he will stay with it no matter the cost; and when he is at the age of departing life he will be departing from the right course. Solomon asked the question; who can build this temple? Teachers must be teachable “My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline or be weary of his reproof” (Prov. 3:11) The Psalmist declared that “Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, and whom you teach out of your law” (Ps. 94:12). In speaking to the end time church, Jesus cried out “Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.” (Rev. 3:19) One thing all teachers need is a teachable spirit.Teachers must utilize their gift “A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.” (Prov. 18:16) We must remember that “every good gift and every perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17). Paul told Timothy, “do not neglect the gift you have” and to “fan into flame the gift of God that is within you”. The gift of teaching is a great gift from God that needs to be utilized. When one begins to operate in this special gifting and anointing, it will elevate him to a level of great influence.Teachers must teach with great care “Besides being wise, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge, weighing and studying and arranging many proverbs with great care. The Preacher sought to find words of delight, and uprightly he wrote words of truth.” (Eccl 12:9, 10) There is more than just having great wisdom, great wisdom teaching and great wisdom ability; there is doing it all with great care. Peter advised those in overseeing capacities to “take care in shepherding the flock of God”.Who you are; knowing the Mission Solomon said of the task “who is able and who am I” (2 Chron. 2:6). Men of perceived great understanding always seem to ask a great many of questions. Solomon, Socrates, even Einstein asked a lot of questions. In his book on vanity, Solomon discussed the futility of performing all this work just so that one who comes by afterward will be able to take advantage of it without doing any of the work. He asked “and who knows whether he will be wise or a fool?” (Eccl. 2:19a) Solomon said this of the one who would come after him (vs. 18). Will that student seek to gain understanding as he did; as do you? “Yet”, Solomon said of him “he will be master of all for which I toiled and used my wisdom under the sun.” (vs. 19b) Our mission is not just to work on the task for only ourselves, but is for those who come after us. There should be no reason for our successors to have to “start from scratch” when we have received the understanding of it from the Lord. Our mission is to pass on the understanding which we have received of Him.Modus Operandi [Latin ‘Mode of Operation’]; Teaching from a Holy Fear “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.” (Eccl. 12:13, 14) The mode of operation for every teacher must be the fear of God. When God calls one to teach, it is not a frivolous pursuit. The Word says that “to obey is better than sacrifice” (1 Sam. 15:22). Teaching is hard work and requires time, preparation, and study. But more than any of this, a teachers main reason for doing what they are doing should be because God has called them to it; and their fear for disobedience, outweighs the trouble and work of it. Solomon wrote that “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” (Prov. 9:10) To gain understanding from the Solomon Anointing we must teach in a mode of operation that comes from a holy fear.Manthano Noesis [Greek ‘Heart Knowledge’]; Teaching with Passion“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” (Prov. 3:5) Solomon gained understanding; not of his own, but of the Lord. Rev. Zac Poonen said that ‘The humble man who recognizes his limitations and leans heavily upon God will ascertain the Divine will without difficulty.’ In order to teach with heart and passion, we must lean upon and trust in the Lord. Jeremiah said that he had “fire in his bones”.Mayim Chayim [Hebrew ‘Living Water’]; Teaching the Source of Life “The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death.” (Prov. 14:27) Moses led the Israelites through the wilderness and their constant groaning and complaining was getting tiresome to the Lord. They came to the bitter waters of Marah which they could not drink. The Israelites immediately began to grumble and even claim that God brought them to that place to die. The Israelites did not truly understand the one whom they called Adonai. God does not desire “for any to perish but for all to have eternal life. God touched the waters through the staff of Moses and turned the bitter waters into drinking waters that can sustain life. The Israelites then named the fountain at Marah ‘Mayim Chayim’ which translated means living waters. Isaiah prophesied of a Mayim Chayim that would come when he said “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters” (Isaiah 55:1a). Jesus identified himself as the prophesied Mayim Chayim when he said “but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14) John also saw the fountain of living waters in his prophetic vision and he heard the Holy One say “To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment” (Rev. 21:6). The source of living water is available to all and this source of life needs to be taught to the people.Solomon Achieved Excellence “Thus King Solomon excelled all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.” (2 Chron. 9:22) Solomon, through the receipt of wisdom and the gain of understanding, came to the place of excellence. Solomon was perhaps the greatest king of the time; in finances, leadership, economic stability, kingdom size and strength. All of this excellence came from the Solomon Anointing that was bestowed upon him. Excellence through creativity and design After Solomon became King, he began work on the task that was assigned to him by the Lord. Solomon did not leave the entire project and all of its facets to somebody else. Scripture says “So Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of God” (2 Chron. 4:19a) This does not mean that Solomon was carpenter, electrician, plumber, designer, architect, supervisor, project manager and everything else in between. This means that Solomon saw how he wanted it to look and then set the course, obtained the help, and organized the project in order to have it be completed as he saw it.Determining the course of action “Now Solomon purposed to build a temple for the name of the LORD, and a royal palace for himself.” (2 Chron. 2:1) What is your purpose? Pastor Rick Warren came out with a very popular book entitled ‘The Purpose Driven Life’ and it became a bestseller. In order to take action in your life you must first have purpose for your life. Your life’s purpose will determine your life’s work. Paul told the church at Colosse “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” (Col. 3:23) Christian teachers, like Solomon, must purpose within themselves to teach for the name of the Lord. This has to be the determination that sets the course of a teachers ministry. Obtaining the necessary help “Now I have sent a skilled man, who has understanding, Huram-abi” (2 Chron. 2:13) Solomon found himself in need of someone who had a particular skill set. He knew that in the next kingdom over, there were these individuals. His pride was not over bearing to hinder him from asking for help. No one man can be excellent at all things. We need to analyze our own skill sets and then where we are lacking, find those who are strong and partner with them. Partnership is a heavenly principle that will birth great and mighty things in a spirit of anizing structure and leadership “Then Solomon counted all the resident aliens who were in the land of Israel, after the census of them that David his father had taken……he assigned…3,600 as overseers to make the people work” (2 Chron. 2:17-18) Organization and strong leadership is vital to any successful project. Leaders still need leadership. Coaches require further coaching. Mentors should also be mentored. In your class or team you may have those individuals whom you can entrust as overseers of a project or task. These persons have distinguished themselves in your sight and our counted worthy of honor. However, do not forget that they still require teaching themselves; otherwise they will give up or get burned out. Solomon learned this and so declared “Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint” (Prov. 29:18). Be certain to continually provide the vision so your leaders can oversee YOUR project.Excellence in the basics “…… they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, "For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever." (2 Chron. 7:3) Following the completion of the temple; all the priests gathered, all the singers gathered, all the musicians gathered, and all the Levites gathered at the temple. What was the purpose of all this gathering: to sacrifice, to worship, and to teach. That was the responsibility of the Levites, to teach the people. Solomon knew that the people needed a refresher course in the Law of the Lord before they could enter into the Temple and worship “in spirit and in truth”. Today, the people of the church very much need a refresher course in the basics. Without an excellent knowledge of the basics, the church cannot grow into what God has called it to be. Teachers need to be gathered to bring these ‘basics’ back to the mind of the people. These basics include the foundation for all spirituality, prayer, church attendance, walking by faith, the Lords promises, and humility.Teaching the force “O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven or on earth” (2 Chron. 6:14) The foundation of any religion, or form of spirituality, is the reality of a force greater than man. The faith of Christianity teaches that God is the sovereign creator and that there is none like Him. The Jews hold to what is called the Shema which is found in Duet 6:4 and is their central prayer: Shema Yisrael, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad {Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One}. This prayer is a testimony of the sovereignty of God. He alone is worthy of all blessing, honor, glory, thanksgiving, wisdom and praise. This is what the angels, the 24 elders and the living creatures all bow down and say. In the world that we live in today there is a pluralistic worldview of theology. This worldview says that everyone is a God to themselves. Christianity cannot find in the least any agreement with any part of this theology, even though many Christian leaders have tried to mold them together. Under the Solomon Anointing we must teach the truth of who God is and who man is, and what man can become in Christ.Evil “The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Gen. 6:5) Ever since the fall of man through Adam and Eve, mankind has had the seed of evil planted within. Man is evil “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). It is important to know that without Christ “NO ONE shall see the Lord”Righteousness “And he believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness.” (Gen. 15:6) Abraham, who was the father of the faith, believed in the Lord just by looking up into the night sky and counting stars. This is the beginning of righteousness, belief in the Lord God of Israel. Paul, in explaining the plan of salvation said “For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” (Rom. 10:10) Righteousness is simply living in right standing with God. Right standing can only be accomplished through the saving grace of Christ Jesus. This MUST BE taught in the church today.Teaching 4+1=Prayer “Yet have regard to the prayer of your servant and to his plea, O LORD my God, listening to the cry and to the prayer that your servant prays before you” (2 Chron. 6:19) Prayer is of the utmost importance to the life of any believer and especially of a teacher. Prayer is the smoke from the altar of incense that ascends into the throne room of the Most High; it powers through the atmospheric levels of evil over this world and it dispatches the goodness and mercy of a loving and caring God. Is this a force you would like to have as you go before your class to teach? This blessing is available only as one engages in its practice. Let us become teachers of prayer.Leading & Exemplifying prayer Jesus was always getting up early before everyone else just to spend time with His father in prayer (Mk. 1:35). Teachers must lead in prayer and exemplify prayer. Then will the students see the value and power of prayer and will desire to be taught on prayer (Luke 11:1) and then engage in prayer.Four ArchangelsThere is a Jewish story about the four arch-angels surrounding the beds of children all around the world. This story is retold during the bedtime prayers with the Jewish children. The four arch-angels are: Michael {right}, Gabriel {left}, Uriel {before}, Raphael {behind}. The purpose of this story is to remind the children that God is watching and protecting them through his charge to the angels. Then, they pray and thank God for His protection and daily covering. Although, this story may sound a little odd to some of us in Pentecost, how important it is to teach our children to pray and using a cool little story is a great way to help kids remember the important things to pray and thank God for.One ShekinahThe Jewish story of the Archangels also speaks about the Shekinah ha’Elohim, or glory of God. As the four archangels are surrounding the child’s bed on every side, there is a cloud which reigns overhead and in it dwells the shekinah, the presence and glory of God. After Solomon was finished praying and the new Temple was dedicated the Bible says that “fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.” (2 Chron. 7:1b) The Priests could not even stand up for the weight of the Glory of God was so heavy in that place. This is the Shekinah of God. To have the glory of God weigh heavily upon you like as a cloak or mantle can only come after much time spent with Him first in prayer. Practice of His PresenceTeaching prayer is not just an early morning or before bedtime ritual. Prayer is also not just a meal blessing time. Prayer must be an all day long practice in the presence of God. The Apostle Paul admonishes us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17). To the church in Ephesus, Paul encouraged them in “praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.” (Eph. 6:18) Teaching AA: Assembly Attendance “not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Heb. 10:25) The children of Israel, at the time when Solomon became King, did not engage in regular temple worship; perhaps because there was no temple to worship in. Solomon, after building the temple, knew how important it would be for the people to attend worship service in the newly dedicated temple (2 Chron. 6:11). This importance has not declined for today Christians. Teachers must teach that assembly attendance is crucial for growth and blessing.Teaching affirmation through spoken blessings “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” (Prov. 18:21) One of the biggest human needs is the need to be affirmed. Psychiatry has become a large industry in our society today as a result of this very need. The church has unfortunately, failed in fulfilling this human need. When we as teachers take back the power, that we have given away to a secular culture, to bless one another through verbal affirmation, we will re-discover the joy of releasing life into others. Solomon said that life is in the power of the tongue. This life is the life of eternity. As teachers you have the power to speak eternal life into one’s soul. What a privilege to bestow eternal affirmation upon your students through a spoken blessing! Affirm them in their walk of faith.Teaching His promises “Has his steadfast love forever ceased? Are his promises at an end for all time?” (Ps. 77:8) Here the Psalmist asks a good question; one that invariably may be asked us, by one of our disciples. Teachers have to know the answer to this question. The answer is NO! The scriptures tell us that “he has granted to us his precious and very great promises” (2 Peter 1:4). These very great promises of God are everlasting. The Apostle Paul declared that “…all the promises of God find their Yes in Him…”(2 Cor. 1:20a). We even have the assurance of past saints who have gone on before us of His faithfulness in His promises: “who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions” (Heb. 11:33). His promises are obtainable and we as teachers must continue to bring this fact before our students.Teaching and imparting humility “if they repent with all their mind and with all their heart in the land of their captivity to which they were carried captive, and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers” (2 Chron. 6:38-39) Solomon, at the end of His temple dedication prayer, came to God with a covenant proposal . Later, God responded to his proposal and covenanted that “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chron. 7:14) The responsibility of the people in order to receive the blessed promises of God was, in part, to be humble. James tells us to humble ourselves in the Lord and then He will lift us up. The great preacher A.W Tozer once said ‘If we humble ourselves and come to God as little children, He will reveal His Son in us and favor us with revelations of spiritual truth unknown to the wise and the prudent’. Jesus prayed “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children” (Matthew 11:25) I remember watching a show called ‘kids say the darnest things’. On this show, young kids would talk the king of comedy Bill Cosby about different topics and it was just funny what these kids would often times say. Of course, Bill Cosby would probe just a little to see the depth of their understanding. God is ready to reveal the hidden things to those who are just humble enough to speak out at the probing of the Lord. Jesus said “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it” (Mark 10:15). We must teach and impart humility under the Solomon Anointing.Excellence with the ProcessWith, what was probably the largest building program at the time, we see that Solomon had a course of action, the necessary help, and the organization to bring it to completion with excellence. In reaching and teaching people there also needs to be a process whereby, when followed, will not only bring results but results with excellence. Solomon had excellence with people and with a Solomon Anointing we can also.Seed it – Planting into the Spirit and Mind“In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good.” (Eccl. 11:6) Solomon is credited with writing an entire book on the subject of emptiness and futility; Ecclesiastes. Yet, in the middle of writing on this topic he says to make sure you sow your seed. Sowing seed into one’s life is the process of instilling into a person a positive influence which will be beneficial for the recipient to obtain. Just sowing the seed does not ensure of its taking root, however, not sowing the seed at all does ensure of it not to take root. Solomon went on to state that you should sow both in the morning and the evening. If you sow seed at every opportunity, the potential impact of your seed will be enlarged. The Solomon Anointing will give you a holy understanding of how to plant seed into the spirit and mind of those you teach for a bountiful harvest. Feed it – Inspiring with the Word of God“The lips of the righteous feed many…” (Prov. 10:21). The average Christian will hear between 45 to 50 sermons and over 90 biblical/scriptural teachings in a single year. Hearing all the right material, although good, will not actually provide sustenance to the Spirit so as to produce Christ-like growth in an individual though. This is why Paul said that faith comes by hearing of the Word of God. Only the ‘Bread of Life’ can uphold one through the temptations of the enemy and remove the leaven to let the natural beauty of His goodness come through. Solomon wrote that “Righteousness exalts a nation” (Prov.14:34a). Those who are righteous, who speak righteously, and who teach righteousness through the Word of God will feed the spiritually hungry and will bring a healing to his land. There is an old African proverb that says ‘give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach him how to fish and he eats for a lifetime’. I would like to offer this re-phrasing: ‘give a man a teaching, he is fed for the moment; inspire him through teaching and he is fed for a lifetime’. Through the Solomon Anointing, let your righteous lips inspire someone for eternity and so affect the world that you live in.Weed it – Removing Unbelief and Hindrances“O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” (Ps. 96:9) Solomon provided an excellent story on the damage that spiritual weeds can cause to the Christians temple garden called ‘the beauty of holiness’ in Proverbs 24:30-34. In this story the field was unable to raise any grain, and the vineyard cultivate fruit; and the stone wall, for its hedge of protection, was incapable of providing safety. The weeds had destroyed the gardens splendor. Many Christians lives {their spiritual temple} are at this same degree of destruction, where they simply cannot worship the Lord in holiness because the weeds in their life are stopping the growth of the fruits of holiness. Question is; why are the weeds allowed to overgrow and choke out the good things which want to spring up? Non-attentiveness to one’s spiritual direction {temple garden} allows him to wander off-track {unbelief} with many distractions {hindrances}. Spiritual apathy attacks many good-intentioned believers. Only the righteous fear of an Almighty and Holy God will keep us seeking His power and favor to be more like Him. As teachers with a Solomon Anointing, you are to bring them to the sacred garden in fear so that there they will learn to worship the Lord with the fruit of holiness. Eat it –Enjoying the fruit of your labor“You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.” (Ps. 128:2) An excellent process is not ‘all work and no play’. There will always come the time when you can look around and see all the time and energy spent wisely culminating in more mature followers of Christ. From the attainment and application of the Solomon Anointing, you will be blessed from all the fruit of your labor.Greater Than Solomon “And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind.” (2 Chron. 9:23)As Solomon was sought in the flesh by many to revel in the wisdom covenant and anointing upon his life; what the people were seeking was actually the Holy One who had given the anointing to him and established the wisdom covenant with him. As great as Solomon was, the One through whom the anointing was given and continues to flow, is greater. Today, God is continuing to pour out this anointing upon those who ask for it over all other earthly treasures. This is heaven’s gift for teachers, like Solomon. Jesus is greater than Solomon “The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.” (Matthew 12:42) As noted earlier, Queen Sheba visited Solomon and was astonished. There will always be people who will not take heed to what we teach. Unfortunately, those who do not may be facing a soon and coming judgment. Jesus is coming back and every eye shall see Him. Yet, Jesus is here even now in each and every teacher of His Word. Jesus was called teacher and Rabboni by His followers, Solomon was a teacher and proverbial scholar, and you are a teacher and servant of the Gospel. Just as many did not listen to Christ, and as the sons did not follow in the way of Solomon, many may not listen to us. But, the sense of urgency is still prevalent and the call to teach still potent. Jesus did not quite teaching so don’t you quite teaching; Jesus who is greater, is with you, and wants to give you a Solomon Anointing. Jesus is one with God “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. And the Word became flesh” (John 1:1,2,14a) Only one person could tout the claim that he was God in the flesh; that man was Jesus the Christ. In the book of Colossians Paul explains that “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” (Col. 1:15) As God came down and made covenant with Solomon, Jesus has come down and made covenant with us. As God said to Solomon “Ask what I shall give you” (2 Chron. 1:7), Christ says to us “Ask and it shall be given you” (Mt. 7:7). To obtain the Solomon Anointing through Jesus Christ, all we have to do is ask Him for it. James said “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (James 1:5)Jesus never sinned “Did not Solomon king of Israel sin on account of such women?” (Neh. 13:26a) Even with the divine anointing afforded King Solomon from God, Solomon committed grievous sin. He entered into covenant with many women who did not share the faith of Israel. This was sorrowful to God, who established with him the ‘Wisdom Covenant’, no doubt. Solomon did not keep his part of the wisdom covenant and therefore did not receive all the blessing of the covenant. As Solomon had a covenant with God, we have a covenant with Jesus. The scripture reveals to us that Jesus never sinned (Heb. 4:15) and therefore is able to hold up to his part of the ‘Wisdom Covenant’. Our Solomon Anointing is not dependant on a past flawed man but on the living and holy Son of Almighty God. If you will go to Him and ask Him for it, and then live to glorify Him with it, you WILL receive a Solomon Anointing.Jesus lives in intercession “Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.” (Heb. 7:25) King Solomon was an intercessor. In 2 Chronicles chapter 6, the temple construction project is now complete and Solomon stands before the altar of the Lord in between the people and the temple and prays. He prays covenantal blessing and promise; that if the people will do their part then God will save, deliver, and restore. What Solomon did in part as an intercessor, Jesus does completely. Jesus’ entire life is centered on the work of intercession. He stands before the altar of mercy in between us and the throne of God’s glory and grace and intercedes for His children. God is also looking for more intercessors. In Isaiah it says that “… he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor” (Isaiah 59:16). With the Solomon Anointing, you the teacher can become an intercessor, full of wisdom and truth, interceding on behalf of each class disciple.Jesus is with you and abides in you “I will not leave you or forsake you.” (Joshua 1:5) This great promise from our Lord stands true from the Old Covenant when God’s chosen people entered into the Promised Land to the New Covenant when the author of Hebrews sough to remind God’s people living under tyranny of His unrelenting faithfulness in chapter 13 verse 5 and it still stands true today for God’s people living in this uncertain time. Solomon is dead and buried and is not with us to share of his anointing and wisdom BUT JESUS IS! The Psalmist declared “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.” (Psalm 37:25) Jesus is with us and will not allow us to be without the anointing that we need to accomplish His work. The Apostle Paul was so convinced of this guarantee that he assured every believer of our sealing with the Holy Ghost in Corinthians. John also declared this truth saying: “But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.” (1 John 2:20) His anointing abides in each of us if we will abide with Him and seek Him for this anointing.Greater things shall you do “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12) Solomon excelled in all that he did and was sought after by many for his anointing and teaching. Yet, in all that Solomon was and did, he failed, sinned and the atmosphere of confusion seen in the society at the beginning of his reign was found in even greater degree at his reigns end. The legacy of Solomon was minimum compared to its potential. His son turned a united kingdom into a divided kingdom, inquired of questionable advisors, and showed no mercy to the people. Solomon’s kingdom saw an obvious end just a short time after his passing, and to this day, modern archeologists question the reality of the Biblical King Solomon as real evidence of his palace or temple have yet to be discovered. Jesus declared that through Him we can do greater. Your anointing will be superior and your legacy will be larger because your Solomon anointing comes from Him, the Holy One of Israel.Conclusion:242887515875God wants to give you, a teacher of His Word, a Solomon anointing, so that your students will seek out your presence just to hear and receive of the wisdom, understanding, and excellence that God has anointed you with (2 Chron. 9:23). Will you seek Him out for this anointing as Solomon did when he was first appointed to the task (2 Chron. 1:3, 5)? Please pray this season for God to fill you, and every other teacher in the Zeeland church of God, with a Solomon Anointing. ................
