JOB DESCRIPTION
Post Title InfoBase – Data Collector/ Analyst (Community Connectors)
Hours 21 hours per week, Part Time
Salary Grade 3 (points 15 – 18) £16,300 - £17,439 PRO RATA
Term Fixed Term contract until March 2016

Main Purpose of the Job
The Community Connectors programme will be delivered in partnership with the Glasgow & West of Scotland Housing Forum, working alongside local and citywide organisations to strengthen information links between the Third Sector, older people, carers and statutory services. The model will be rolled out in the three locality sectors within Glasgow and staff will operate from a partner Housing Association based in the community.
The programme is funded by Glasgow’s Health and Social Care Integrated Care Fund.
The Data collector/analyst will work with other Community Connector and core GCVS staff to ensure that high quality practical information on services for older people in Glasgow is available to Community Connectors via the GCVS InfoBase platform. This includes identifying appropriate information, gathering and inputting this to the system and ensuring that it is regularly updated. The post will also play a major role in supporting GCVS community connectors and other project stakeholders to use the database themselves to support older residents in line with the overall project objectives.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The worker will support the day to day delivery of the Community Connector project by;
• Identifying and establishing contact with new and existing third sector organisations in Glasgow supporting older people.
• To assist in encouraging organisations to take part in the project.
• Collecting and updating data on services including their suitability to meet needs and how they can be accessed. Data capture will utilise online surveys and/or structured face to face or telephone interviews where required.
• Integrating additional data on organisational readiness and capacity to support older people gathered by the GCVS Community Connectors themselves.
• Assisting with the InfoBase annual audit of information held on organisations in the database.
• Sharing appropriate information as directed with partner agencies and community stakeholders.
• Producing customised reports for CC staff, management process and other partners on request.
• Supporting staff and other stakeholders to use the system and contribute to Training as required.
• To liaise with the Research and Information Officer regarding information gathered and updated.
• To adhere to confidentiality procedures and policies when collecting, storing and sharing data.
NB: In order to meet the aim of the Community Connectors Programme, the post holder will be required to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and commitment to achieving the aims of the programme. The above list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and a willingness to ‘go above and beyond’ for individuals is essential. The flexibility and demands of the post will be recognised in a supportive line management structure.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Community Connector Programme is a relatively new model that is being piloted in different ways across the country. A key objective is therefore to build evidence around the effectiveness, feasibility and impacts of this way of working. As such it will be rigorously evaluated and Community Connector Practitioners will be expected to engage with and help facilitate data collection for this study.
MAIN TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following terms and conditions are typically offered to GCVS staff on fixed term and permanent contracts, and are set out here for your information only. Terms and conditions may vary according to circumstances and this summary does not form part of any subsequent employment contract.
Working hours: Part time (21 hours per week)
Probationary period: 3 months with a review at 3 months. During the first 3 months the contract may be terminated with 1 weeks’ notice.
Annual Leave: 25 days annual leave (rising to 28 days after 10 years-service) with 13 bank holidays per annum (pro rata for part time staff and those working less than a year)
Pension: Contributory pension through Pension Trust
GCVS contributes 6% salary on condition the member of staff contributes at least 4%. This can be joined on completion of three months employment.
Life Assurance: 2 times your salary payable on death in service.
Sickness Absence: 4 weeks full pay and 4 weeks half pay in the first year, on a sliding scale up to 26 weeks full pay and 26 weeks half pay after 10 years’ service.

Flexi time: GCVS operates a flexi-time system, core hours 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.00. Any additional hours or evening work required will be recompensed via flexi-time.
