Columbia Lighthouse for the BlindJob DescriptionPosition Title: Software Quality Assurance Analyst (Int.) Location: Washington, DCPurpose of Position: Provides Section 508 conformance and usability testing of web sites; legacy and web-based applications and documents to conform to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and to improve the usability of websites; applications and documents for individuals with disabilities. Identify assistive technology issues and report findings to the client. Respond to specific requests to test applications for accessibility. Provide input and review of proposed training materials developed for clients. Draft training materials as assigned. Regularly participate in test readiness and release readiness meetings. Provide scripting for assistive technological devices. Assist in developing test scenarios and provide support for User Acceptance Testing relative to Section 508 requirements and accessibility usability standards.Responsibilities: Performs installations and runs quality assurance programs to test, identify, reproduce, and report defects in software.? Conducts a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Drafts, revises and approves test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and IT strategy. Creates test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow. Coordinates with users to plan user acceptance testing, alpha and beta testing. Ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolvedEducation/Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience. Some experience and practiced skills with general software testing (Functional, Regression, Integration, and/or Performance) required.Bachelor's degree in a related field required.Prior experience providing planning, design assistance, and testing of Section 508 activities throughout the systems development life cycle required.Knowledge of 508 accessibility testing techniques and remediation tools required.Experience with 508 tools such as JAWS, PAW, WAT, Ferret, Narrator, or Common Look (or others) required.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.Ability to learn very quickly and share knowledge with other team members.Strong problem solving skills, ability to multi-task, organized, ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, and very detail puter experience required.
