TITLE: Data ScientistTEAM/PROGRAMME: ITLOCATION: LondonGRADE: TBC CONTRACT LENGTH: PermanentCHILD SAFEGUARDING:Level 2: either the post holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or the post holder will be working ?in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore a police check ?will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or equivalent in other countries).ROLE PURPOSE: The Data Scientist will provide data-driven insight to support effective decision-making and make recommendations for optimising efficiencies and growth. The role will be responsible and accountable for data modelling, data governance, data protection, data migration and data analytics. The Data Scientist will provide significant business value by defining how data in systems can be used to inform future tactical and strategic directives. The role will also be responsible for the design and implementation of the data analytics and reporting capabilities in systems and act as the subject matter expert on these capabilities to both business and technology stakeholders (including external suppliers).SCI is undergoing significant transformation across a number of core business processes, systems, and structures, through the implementation of a number of High Performing Organization Change Projects. The PPM PRIME (Programme Project Management/ Project Reporting, Information Management and Evidence) initiative aims to improve project management and project information management across Save the Children by introducing a global standardised project management methodology and an IT system to record and analyse programmatic information and provide functionality to better manage projects. The project will support proactive and timely management of programs and significantly increase the accessibility of information about Save the Children’s programme achievements, resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness and a culture of evidence-based knowledge, learning and action on what works best for children. The Data Scientist role will have an initial long-term engagement on the PPM PRIME project to lead on aspects of the data management and analysis work stream.SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: BI ArchitectStaff reporting to this post: No direct reports Role Dimensions: Over 120 countries with a staff complement in excess of 24,000.
