Details:

Beginning Aug. 22, 2022, the People First data warehouse (DW) team will begin the process of purging (removing) older data currently stored in the DW (see details below). The DW has copied data (original data is stored in People First, FLAIR Information Warehouse and other related systems) that is no longer valid for agency use.

The process of removing data from the DW does not require any system downtime. During the data removal process, agency ad hoc report users can access the DW (using other connections - e.g., SQL) and business objects (BOBJ). In addition, all users can access the canned BOBJ portal reports (accessed from Reports tile in People First). Users may experience a slight decrease in performance (e.g., slower processing time) when executing ad hoc report queries, processing specific canned BOBJ reports or running automated scripts/extracts (jobs) that use the DW or BOBJ views when the data is being removed.

Retention Period: While this data is not subject to records retention (copy, not original data), the team will be applying the records retention policy when removing this copy data as described below.

Agency Action Required: To prepare for the removal of data in the DW and BOBJ, agency ad hoc users should complete the following activities. ? Extract any data that needs to be retained for agency internal use before the data removal process begins. Once the

data is removed, it will no longer be accessible in the DW or BOBJ by agencies or People First. ? Review existing queries for ad hoc reports and automated scripts/extracts (jobs) and make necessary updates. ? Identify internal database dependencies and make necessary updates. ? Identify internal processes impacted and make necessary updates.

removed. To ensure the process does not impact the nightly materialized views refresh, the data removal process will be completed between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET.
