LIVERPOOL DISABLED SUPPORTERS ASSOCIATIONCOMMITTEE MEETING MINUTESFRIDAY 7th SEPTEMBER 2018 2.45PMCOMMITTEE ATTENDINGPat Baxter, Steve Evans, David Higham (Chairman), Laura Higham, Dave Hornblow, Graham Lewis, Karl Lindsay, Kay Lindsay, Ian Littlewood & Samantha Mellor.LFC STAFF & OTHERS ATTENDING Lorna Duckworth (Safeguarding & Equality Officer), Debbie Joynson (Ticketing), Jo Kirkham (Head of Fan Experience), Simon Smith (Head of Stadium & Operations) Simon Thornton (Disability & Inclusion Manager). APOLOGIESTommy Hutchinson (Vice-Chair).WELCOMEThe Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting, particularly the four new Committee members who were attending their first full meeting. All members introduced themselves. LFC staff were only able to be present for the first part of the meeting that was relevant to them.MATTERS ARISING & RATIFICATION OF MINUTES The minutes from August were ratified and are now on the LDSA page of LFC’s website. TICKETINGThe Tottenham Hotspur away game is sold out. The Chelsea away league game will go on sale on Tuesday; they are offering 30 wheelchair bays free of charge.Payments are being taken now for the PSG Champions League game. They are on sale to those with 6 or more match-credits.The date of the Carabao Cup against Chelsea at Anfield is still to be decided. Supporters are advised to keep an eye on the club website. Feedback with regard match day parking is generally good. The Ticket Office are considering a different style ticket for disabled users. The wheelchair tribunes in the Kenny Dalglish and Main Stand no longer provide free tea and coffee. Supporters throughout the stadium are encouraged to use the SeatServe App which is now available. SeatServe gives a range of services, including being able to order in advance of the game. However, a cash bar is still available before the start of the game. There have been some recent and ongoing issues with seating for ambulant supporters. It always appears that ambulant seats are only available in the corners of the stadium. The Ticket Office always try to seat individuals where they request, every seat is available to them. However, this is not always possible. This is a consequence of season ticket holders taking the bulk of seats available in the middle areas of the stadium, which is of course their right. Online sales for ambulant supporters is somewhat different in that only certain areas can be offered. This is a work in progress as the online system is improved over time, and what is classed as an accessible area. We were reminded that the club only recently started online ticket sales to ambulant and disabled members. With feedback from supporters and the ticketing team input, the online sales will be modified in due course, although this will take some time, it is not a quick fix. There was a request for the window sales to remain for at least the next sale or until all the issues have been ironed out.DIVERSITY & INCLUSION MANAGER (DIM)Simon discussed the Disability Steward rota, where they are rotated from area to area, so individuals gain experience throughout the stadium. Part-rotation was queried as an alternative. This keeps the nucleus of the same staff in the same area for continuity, but also gives flexibility to move staff for training and familiarisation with supporters. This was agreed by the Committee as a good thing. This will be considered by the club. The Club is carrying out a supporter experience review for all those who gain access via general admission and disabled hospitality. Any suggestions or ideas to improve this and make it a more appropriate and consistent experience are welcomed. The Club will engage with a number of supporters as part of the review.A new online discount code for online shopping will be made available as soon as possible. The audio feedback facility that was not available during the Brazil v Croatia game was queried. This was probably due to no local media commentary being available to provide a service. The Head of Fan Experience will investigate and feedback to the DIM.
