Autobiographical Guidelines

Merriam Webster defines an “autobiography” as a written history of a person’s life narrated by that person.  In simple terms, it is a story about your life written by YOU! Use the outline below to help you formulate your own personal story. Be sure to have your work peer edited. *Must be typed! (500 words minimum)

Paragraph 1:  Birth History

Birth date (day of the week, month, date, year, and time of the day/night)

Birth place (hospital name, city, and state)

Weather conditions as remembered by your parents

Birth weight, Birth length/height

Paragraph 2:  All About Your Name

Birth name (first, middle, and surname)

Who was responsible for naming you?

Earliest memory

Paragraph 3:  Family

 Number of people in your family

 Names of my parents, brothers, sisters, and family pets

What you like about your family

What activities you do together as a family

Paragraph 4:  School Memories

 Name of school you attend

Grade currently enrolled in

Favorite subject, Best friends

Favorite school memories

Paragraph 5:  Hobbies & Extracurricular

 Leisure time

Activities, clubs, and/or sports

Paragraph 6:  When You Grow Up

  Looking ahead to the future

 Place you might like to visit someday

 Career you would like for yourself

What you hope to accomplish in your lifetime

Internet Time Capsule, Day in History:

Use this site to print out your Day in History Time Capsule. This site will tell what happened in history on your birthday. Use time and to calculate Duration between Dates to find out how many days old you are. Use Calendar for the Year to add information to find out what day of the week you were born on. Add this information to your Day in History Time Capsule Printout.

Personal Photo Collage

Create a Photo Collage – Your collage must include also include a quote to live by and your name. Be creative and leave no space uncovered! When choosing a quote that fits YOU, select a topic and then a specific quote. Copy and paste it to Microsoft Word and print out (on your favorite colored paper) your chosen quote for your collage. Be sure to include the author of your selected quote. You may use photocopies of pictures or digital images for your collage.
