Séance 1 :

Anticipation:

Try to give an answer to the following questions.

- What is a superhero?

- Where can you find superheroes?

- What are their usual features?

- How do you call their opponents/enemies?

You had to make a small paragraph answering these questions.

Some of you read your paragraph to the class.

We took some notes.

Séance 6:

Rappel de la leçon = résumé structuré à l’oral du trailer.

We read the plot summary and you tried to guess who was really Elijah.

I then gave you a worksheet on the first chapter of Batman Begins.

the first chapter of Batman Begins to read and the worksheet to complete for the holidays.

Séance 7:

Today, I first presented the project you will have to prepare in the next "modules" classes.

You will have to create your own superhero !!

We then read again the first chapter of Batman begins, and we answered the comprehension questions on your worksheet.

HW: You must learn your lesson and be able to talk about Batman Begins for next time.

Séance 8:

Today, we first reviewed the lesson about the superheroes, Unbreakable and Batman Begins.

I then showed you a new trailer, about a new series entitled Heroes, and you had to say as much as you can about it.

and here is what you said:

This document is the trailer / preview of a new series named Heroes. It presents several people:

- A girl, a cheerleader whose name is Claire, is jumping from a bridge. She may want to prove she is unbreakable since she is filmed by someone. She can also go through a fire without being hurt / injured / wounded / having a scratch.

- An artist is painting things he sees from the future,

- A Japanese man is able to / can stop the time only with his mind,

- A policeman / a cop is hearing people's thoughts,

- A single mother sees someone else who is watching her and who looks like her,

- A young man thinks he is able to fly.

The trailer shows us ordinary people who are progressively discovering their superpowers / extraordinary abilities.

HW: Learn your lesson and make a sentence to explain the very end of the trailer. You can also try the online exercises on the series.

Séance 9:

Today, to know if your lessons were learnt, you worked on a worksheet about the series Heroes.

You answered questions I and II and then, you watched the trailer again and filled in the blanks of the script. I then collected it and gave it to one of your classmates. We corrected it together.

Séance 10:

Today, we corrected your homework on Heroes and here is what you said:

- Claire has the ability / capacity to be "unbreakable".

She can be hurt without having a scratch.

-Isaac has the ability to paint the future / future events.

- Matt can hear people's thoughts.

And we then reviewed the present simple tense. You had an exercise to do.

HW: Lesson to learn + exercise on your worksheet on the present simple.

Séance 11:

Today, you first had a small lesson test on the series Heroes and on the simple present.

We then corrected your exercises.

We also reviewed the "présent + Be -ing" and saw the differences between the 2 presents.

HW: Lesson to review + exercise to finish.

Séance 12:

Today, we reviewed the present tenses and made some exercises on the présent simple and présent  Be + -ing.

Don't forget that your superhero project must be presented to your group tomorrow and on Friday !!

HW: Remember that you have your test on the whole superhero sequence on Friday, so be prepared !

Evaluation: double :

Test ‘superheroes’ + projet (travail de A. PASPA et F. CHOTARD) à présenter devant le groupe de module.
