Captain America was created in 1940. The character was designed as a patriotic super soldier who often fought the Axis powers of World War II and was Timely Comics' most popular character during the wartime period. Captain America wears a costume that bears an American flag motif, and is armed with a nearly indestructible shield that he throws at enemies. Several stories portrayed Captain America in conflict with the Nazis or the Japanese. These were tactics to boost morale.

STAN LEE was born Stanley Martin in New York City in 1922. He created the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, Thor, the X-Men, Daredevil, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. He invented a whole universe and a mythology for his characters. He now produces every Marvel movie and he appears in most of them. And yet, you must concentrate a lot if you wish to see him in a movie because it is very quick.

DC COMICS was founded in 1934 as National Allied Publications. The letters « DC » stand for « Detective Comics ». The company is owned by Times Warner. Superman, one of its famous superheroes, can fly. He need keep his energy. He should have a rest. He must protect the planet.

MARVEL COMICS started in 1939 as Timely Publication and it’s DC Comics’ top rival. In 2009, the Walt Disney Company bought Marvel for $4 billion. One of Marvel’s superheroes is Spider-Man. He can throw cobwebs. He need have courage. He should be more confident. He must defeat villains.
