What is SelectQu ?
SelectQu is a PC based software program which allows the user or application to
interface with a dealer's management system, and enables the user to download
information from the dealer's management system to the PC. Virtually any information
on the system can be retrieved and downloaded onto the PC using SelectQu, as long
as you know how the data is stored or Select System sets up the download.
How does SelectQu work ?
SelectQu is designed to operate on any Windows O/S and runs minimized on the PC's
taskbar. Therefore, it operates "behind the scenes" and will not interfere with any other
PC applications. SelectQu's main purpose is to wakeup, look for information to either
get or send to the dealer's management system (DMS), and then go back to sleep.
SelectQu checks at a specified interval (usually every 3- 5 seconds) or at a specified
time, for an information request file (queue file). If it is found, then it connects to DMS,
logs on and then retrieves or sends the information.
What are some of the features of SelectQu ?
* Software can be ran any number of ways:
* Can download data via a PC at the dealership.
* Can dial multiple dealerships from a central location.
You also have the choose of zipping up the files and either email
or ftp the files via the internet after downloading.
* Multiple levels of Password with some changing monthly.
* Multiple Terminal Screen Emulations
* Operates minimized at the taskbar
* Ability to stay connected to DMS all the time or just when needed
* Ability to receive requested data in these formats:
- Non-delimited, raw data
- Comma delimited, separated by commas
- Comma quoted, data separated by a comma with quotes
around the data
- Tab, data separated by a tab
- Fixed length, data filled with spaces in order to make each
data element 25 characters wide.
- Microsoft Access databases
* Ability to send data or receive data
* Ability to restrict the import of certain information by the use of
query statements
* Ability to isolate the user from different types of errors, while still reporting
the errors to the answer file so your application can handle the user interface.
