This workshop series is highly customizable, based on the needs of the individuals and organizations that are served. ?Understanding CreditThis workshop goes over the most important concepts of credit including the importance of credit, what information creates a credit score and how to improve a credit score. It also covers the best strategy for paying down credit card debt.Money SmartThis workshop teaches you how to develop financial confidence, build financial knowledge, and learn how to use banking services using the award-winning FDIC Money Smart Curriculum. Through customizable modules you will learn about banking services, borrowing and checking basics, how to make credit work for you, paying yourself first, credit history, and homeownership.Identity TheftHave you ever been a victim of identity theft? Learn what identity theft is, how it occurs, as well as how to protect yourself against it and what to do if you become a victim.Youth & MoneyACCC offers a number of financial literacy workshops for youth. These workshops teach children grades K-12 the basic concepts of budgeting, checking and savings accounts, credit and investments using a variety of lessons and activities.Teaching Children about MoneyThis workshop will teach you fun and effective strategies to teach children about money and finances. Adults will learn ways to teach good money management skills to the children in their lives whether they are 5 or 15.ACCC ServicesThis is an overview discussion in a workshop setting on the various counseling services and financial education that is provided by ACCC. This discussion covers information on budget counseling, a debt management plan, bankruptcy pre-counseling and post debtor-education, housing counseling, student loan counseling and financial education. Virtual WebinarsTo compliment ACCC’s workshop programming, we offer our core workshops shown above as well as two live webinars a month on various financial topics.Each seminar is 1 hour to 1.5 hours in length. Seminars may be scheduled by contacting your EAP provider or ACCC’s workshop staff at 800-769-3571 ext. 1980.Additional Telephone & Online Counseling Services Provided by ACCCCredit Counseling and Debt Management: ACCC provides credit counseling and debt management services. During a counseling session, a certified counselor will help you evaluate your current financial situation and review the root cause of financial stress. Counselors will provide a detailed budget analysis including a review of your income, assets, and expenses with customized options based on your goals, which may include social and educational resources, or a Debt Management Plan.A debt management program (DMP) is individually designed to help you pay off debts and get your financial life back on track in the shortest amount of time possible. In most cases, a debt management program will help you pay off your unsecured debt within three-five years. A DMP can reduce interest rates, stop late and over-limit fees, consolidate your debt into one easy monthly payment, get out you out of debt faster, and save you money with lower payments.Pre and Post Bankruptcy Counseling: By law, any consumer seeking bankruptcy protection must undergo a “budget briefing” and counseling session before they file. Additionally, to complete a bankruptcy discharge, the person filing must complete a 2-hour approved debtor education course. A Debtor Education Completion Certificate must be obtained in order to receive the final discharge from the court. ACCC is government certified to fulfill these two separate requirements for individuals filing bankruptcy.Pre-Bankruptcy counseling involves an approved online course followed by a brief follow-up phone conversation with a bankruptcy counselor. Post-Bankruptcy debtor education is a 2-hour online class. After the class has been completed ACCC will issue the certificate* needed for the completion of bankruptcy discharge. *Approved to issue certificates in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of the Agency’s services. EOUST regulations do not apply to residents of NC or AL.Housing Counseling: ACCC provides counseling, education, and advice on housing issues. Approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), ACCC is a name you can trust for your housing needs.Reverse Mortgage Counseling - A Reverse Mortgage can assist in providing a tax-free cash flow to eligible homeowners, 62 years of age or older. It is a unique type of loan used by older Americans enabling them to convert the equity in their homes into cash. Without the obligation of a monthly payment while in the home, a reverse mortgage is designed to enable a senior’s financial independence, by making funds available to the homeowner. A Reverse Mortgage allows homeowners access to money that they have built up as equity in their homes.Homebuyer Education and Certification – ACCC has partnered with Framework to offer outstanding online homebuyer education courses. ?Each course is user friendly and provides homebuyer education necessary for certification. ?Both courses are self-paced and can be done at your leisure. Buying a home is a big deal, whether you're doing it for the first time or getting back into the ever-changing market. Self-educate for smart homeownership.?Student Loan Counseling: ACCC can help you explore your options regardless of how much you owe or your loan status, including eliminating the loan altogether through loan cancellation, exploring more affordable payment plans or loan consolidation, and even postponing payments through deferment or forbearance programs to avoid delinquency or default.
