The TRANSCOM Users Group Meeting was held in conjunction with the National Transportation Stakeholders Forum (NTSF) on Monday, June 4th 2018, at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in downtown Omaha. The NTSF is a conference where DOE communicates at a national level with states and tribes about the Department's shipments of radioactive waste and materials. The purpose of the NTSF is to bring transparency, openness, and accountability to DOE's offsite transportation activities through collaboration with state and tribal governments.

For years TRANSCOM has teamed with the NTSF to host the TRANSCOM Users Meeting and to provide state and tribal governments with TRANSCOM Training as a break out session. This year both the Users Meeting and the Training were held on the day prior to the start of the conference and participation was high. More than sixteen (16) states and Tribal governments were represented at TRANSCOM meetings.

TRANSCOM CARRIERS ? IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The process for transferring transponder units from your Omnitracs account into the DOE/TRANSCOM account prior to a shipment departure has changed. Omnitracs has notified us that TCC are not authorized to remove a unit from a carrier's account and consequently we can no longer make this transfer on your behalf. Please be sure to initiate transponder transfers to the TRANSCOM Omnitracs account in sufficient time for the required pre-shipment communication testing. If the shipment requires one day prior communication testing the transfer should be completed one day in advance; at a minimum, the transfer should be made 6 hours prior to departure to allow for communications testing. If you cannot complete transfer of the unit 6 hours prior to departure, please call the TCC operator and the shipper to work on a resolution.

Upon shipment arrival the TCC System Operator will transfer the unit back to your account, unless directed otherwise.
