SEMINAR:
PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
The seminar will be a brief overview of applying Scientific Molding to the injection molding process and troubleshooting those pesky defects that still come up. The seminar will concentrate on improving process yields and getting the process right the first time. This is not a seminar where you have to remember everything or take notes and hope you can recall the information later.
Each attendee will get two valuable books written by the instructor: (1) SCIENTIFIC INJECTION MOLDING explaining the process in detail and including a CD allowing you to create your own Universal Spreadsheet. (2) TROUBLESHOOTING INJECTION MOLDED PARTS giving in depth explanation of the possible causes of molded defects.
You'll also learn
• How to make the same quality parts, at the same cycle time on different machines whether at your shop or another facility.
• Eliminating problems at the validation trial and not during production.
• Avoiding variations that will invalidate your PPAP, FDA etc. validations.
How to define
• Cosmetics
• Function
• Dimensions
• The Universal Definition of Quality
• “Acceptable Parts”
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
-Those who have applied the Scientific Molding principles but still find variations in their processes (note: these can be fixed).
-Engineers, molding technicians, quality assurance people who want a hands-off, consistent quality continuous molding process.
-Management personnel who no longer want to hear about money-losing 'explainable variances' from a supposedly validated molding process.
.
Expected Outcomes:
Optimized cycles times from the beginning
Maximum utilization of your equipment
A more professional workforce focused on productivity and profit
New tooling startups that don’t need to ‘be processed in’, or start with high scrap rates
Less miscommunication on standards
Learn how to do the experiments to OPTIMIZE your cycle;
• Setting the clamp pressure
• Setting the distances
• Optimizing fill
• Optimizing pack
• Optimizing cool
• Heat profiles
Construct a universal setup sheet that gives you the process settings automatically from one machine to another without having to start from scratch.
