Dr. Judith S. Krom is the Dean of the Heavin School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, New Jersey. Thomas Edison State College specializes in providing flexible, high-quality, educational opportunities for adults. One of New Jersey’s 12 senior public institutions of higher education, the College offers 15 degrees in more than 100 areas of study. This includes a baccalaureate (120 credits) degree and an associate (60 credits) degree in emergency disaster management. Graduate degrees are available online. Other areas in which degrees are offered include business, human services, nursing, liberal arts and technology. The programs are designed for the working adult who wants to continue a career while earning a degree.

There are many ways to earn credit at Thomas Edison State College including Prior Learning Assessment, credit for EMI/FEMA courses and other American Council on Education evaluated training, testing, military training, transfer credit from other regionally accredited institutions, and Thomas Edison State College distance learning courses including Guided Study, online, and e-Pack courses.

Dr. Krom is responsible for undergraduate and graduate programs in human services and social sciences which includes 2-and 4-year degrees in emergency disaster management. She would be interested in talking to other participants about non-traditional, adult-oriented degree programs.
