CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Nowell called the meeting to order at 5:10 p.m.
REVIEW OF MINUTES
The board reviewed the minutes of the November 14, 2006. Ms. Harris made a motion, seconded by Mr. McKenzie to approve the minutes as written. The motion was unanimously carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
There was no unfinished business from the previous month’s meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Disciplinary Hearing of Lawrence Paul Tatem
Ms. Adams opened the hearing at 5:20 pm with Board member introductions. Deputy Attorney General James Hanleythe represented the State. Mr. Hanley requested a continuance because he has reason to believe that the licensee has taken the steps necessary to have his Massachusetts license reinstated, which was the basis for the State’s complaint. The Board granted Mr. Hanley’s request for a continuance. Ms. Harris made a motion, seconded by Mr. Kotrch to grant Mr. Hanley’s request for a continuance and to schedule the hearing for the next Board meeting. The motion was unanimously carried. The hearing ended at 5:25 pm.
Review of PT/PTA/AT Applications by Reciprocity
Ms. Whiteman made a motion, seconded by Ms. Harris, to amend the agenda and add the application of Rita DeFazio. The motion was unanimously carried.
Ms. Whiteman made a motion, seconded by Ms. Harris, to approve licensure by reciprocity for the following persons:

Ms. Whiteman made a motion, seconded by Ms. Harris, to amend the agenda and add the application of Carrie Steinman. The motion was unanimously carried.

Request for Exemption from CEUs
Ms. Harris made a motion, seconded by Mr. Kotrch to deny the request of Brenda Bowman to waive CEU requirements for licensure renewal. The motion was unanimously carried.

The motion was unanimously carried.
Election of Officers
Ms. Smith nominated, seconded by Mr. McKenzie, Mr. Gary Nowell to continue his duty as Board Chairperson. The nomination was unanimously carried. A unanimous vote for Mr. Nowell followed.
Mr. McKenzie nominated, seconded by Ms. Harris, John Smith for Board Vice-Chairperson. After a discussion of duties, Denise Smith volunteered for the position. Mr. Kotrch nominated, seconded by Ms. Messick, Ms. Denise Smith for Board Vice-Chairperson. A unanimous vote for Ms. Smith followed.
Ms. Daniello nominated, seconded by Ms. Smith, Mr. John Smith for Board Secretary. A unanimous vote for Mr. Smith followed.
Discrepancies in Credential Reporting
Mr. Nowell presented an application in which FCCPT had stated the licensee was substantially equivalent to a first professional degree (Master’s Degree). However, the first page of the report listed the applicant as receiving a Bachelor’s Degree. The question is how to proceed with this conflicting data. Ms. Adams copied the file and will contact FCCPT to discuss the matter further.
Proposal To Deny
Ms. Whiteman made a motion, seconded by Ms. Harris to propose to deny licensure to the following people based on their credential evaluations:

The motion was unanimously carried.
Continuing Education Question from Licensee.
Ms. Myer forwarded a question from a licensee concerning continuing education courses taken outside the United States. Are the allowed and is there a CEU conversion? The board agreed that any course work taken would need to meet the guidelines in the rules and regulations to be approved by the Board. The conversion of 1 hour of course work= 0.10 CEUs would still be the same.

Next Scheduled Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. Due to renovations to the Conference Rooms of the Cannon Building. The meeting will be held at another location. The location was not confirmed at this time and will be forwarded to the Board when known.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Mr. Kotrch made a motion, seconded by Ms. Whiteman to adjourn the meeting. The motion was unanimously carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
