|2. If your operating system is version 10.6 or higher download and install PDF Browser Plug-in 2.4.2.  Follow the installation instructions as they |

|appear on the screen.  (NOTE: if your operating system is 10.5.8 or lower install PDF Browser plug-in version 2.3.2) |

|4. Open Safari and click on Safari.  Make sure there is not a check mark in front of Block pop-up windows.  If there is a check mark click on Block |

|pop-up windows and the check mark should disappear. |

|5. Click on Safari and Reset Safari. Remove all check marks except for “Remove all cookies” and “Empty the cache” those two items should have a check |

|mark.  Now click Reset. |

|6. Close Safari. |

|7. Open Safari and try accessing the online student edition.  You may be prompted to accept a license agreement for Schubert at this time.  Please check|

|the radial button that denotes educational use only and click ok, and your book should work properly. |

|Here are the Firefox instructions.  If you do not have the Firefox browser you can download it for free from .  After that is done |

|proceed with the instructions below. |

|1.  Install Adobe Reader version 10.  It is a free download from |

|You do not need to accept the McAfee Security Scan or free Google Toolbar downloads; they can remove the checkmark for this item and proceed with the |

|Adobe Reader download. |

|2. Start Adobe Reader.  If you receive a message regarding making Adobe Reader your default PDF program click Yes. |

|3. Start Firefox and click on Preferences. |

|4. Click on Applications.  In the column titled Content Type you will see various listings for Adobe Acrobat. |

|5. Click Adobe Acrobat Document. In the column titled Actions you will see that there is now a drop-down menu for Adobe Acrobat Document. |

|6. From the drop-down choose either: Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox) or Use PDF browser plug-in (in Firefox).  Do the same for any other Content Types of|

|Adobe Acrobat and when you are finished with all of them click OK. |

|7. Close Firefox and then open it again and try to access the online student edition.  The book should work properly now. |

|Click on Internet (left side of the screen). |

|Uncheck the Display PDF in browser box and click the OK button at the bottom. |

|Follow steps 2-3 again only this time recheck the Display PDF in browser box. |

|Click OK then exit Acrobat Reader. |

|Restart your browser and log into the OSE. All pages should now be visible. |
