Updated Networker Policy Setup document to include detail of Pass

how to set the retention on tape.

Corrected issue related where the upgrade history record

Pass

incorrectly shows the previous version from a formal tar file build

only

Added migration option -labelx used to specify a custom label Pass

value applicable when using ADMe for an ADS migration to a

target Avamar.

Provided a warning message when using the -purge option logged Pass

in job log and the user has established the flag file for testing

purposes /home/admin/admeadmin/customize/NOPURGE which

allows the purge logic to execute but the physically removal of the

BU from Avamar will be skipped.

Modified the -purge behavior to support using -stageonly

Pass

followed by an independent call to perform a subsequently export

of the previously staged backup. The purge process now retains

knowledge of the BU's staged to be reused when the export

phase is called later.

Corrected bug when using -exchvssavtar option which could result Pass

in other migration criteria options being ignored.

Corrected bug seen when establishing a new environment file Pass

from the Web-UI indicating the process has failed but the file was

created correctly.

Added a check to confirm whether root FS is 100% full to improve Pass

on a previous check added to confirm whether MCS service is

active or not which cannot function if the root FS is full. When

MCS crashes, it often will create a very large dump file on the root

FS.

This patch description introduced at build 19.63 and propagated Pass to builds 19.63a and 19.63b, has been rewritten to correct issues with it.

Added code to detect if the mcs service goes down or is bounced resulting in active ADMe jobs losing track of their progress and prevent the job log from continuing to update with invalid progress messages. Any active jobs will end with a failed status suggesting MCS service may be down.

Added code to monitor the Return Code when performing a quick Pass format against a Windows staging drive letter. When non-zero, an error will now be generated indicating the staged data has not been deleted as expected. Corrected bug resulting in staging progress byte count displayed Pass as 0 bytes when avtar was being used for non-FS plugins. Also added a suffix value of KB, MB, GB or TB for both mccli and avtar recovery sessions. Added code to detect if the mcs service goes down or is bounced Pass resulting in active ADMe jobs losing track of their progress and prevent the job log from continuing to update with invalid progress messages. Any active jobs will end with a failed status suggesting MCS service may be down. When using a -server initiated export phase it may not be obvious Pass which mcs thread name was used to initiate the export call.

Cosmetic fix to remove several log lines resulting from various Pass avtar calls Modified the adme -gui start command to accommodate starting Pass the GUI service to use the key-store access signed certificates. The startup syntax will vary based on the version of the GUI .war file and Avamar as to what syntax will be used. Added migration option to be used when selecting Exchange VSS Pass BU's which by default must be recovered to a Exchange server. The option -exchvssavtar, supports recovering an Exchange VSS BU to a standard Windows OS using avtar without the need for it having Exchange S/W and the Exchange plugin. This approach does not replay the transaction logs at staging time but does stage both the EDB file(s) and their related transaction logs for future replay as needed. Added migration option used when selecting Exchange VSS BU's Pass which by default must be recovered to an Exchange server. The option -avexvss, supports passing valid option(s) to the Exchange recovery CLI avexvss.exe command which includes specifying individual EDB's versus acting on all EDB's. When using this CLI transaction logs will be replayed by default but can optionally not be replayed as desired. Added verification of EDB shutdown status when staging to an Pass Exchange Server and having its logs replayed. The verification confirms whether the Shutdown State is Clean or Dirty, and if Dirty will result in a failed ADMe job status. Added migration option to be used when selecting Hyper-V VSS Pass BU's which by default must be recovered to a Hyper-V server. The option -hypervssavtar, supports recovering a Hyper-V VSS BU's to a standard Windows OS using avtar without the need for it having Hyper-V S/W and the Hyper-V plugin.

1 19.4

Added capability to leverage custom signed certificates from Avamar Pass version 19.3 and higher. When starting the GUI service, it will auto detect the supportability of this feature and start the service using appropriate syntax.

2 19.4

Removed the built html help files from each GUI tab changing them Pass to open an appropriate pdf file which is also stored in folder /home/admin/admeadmin/doc. This allows for graphics to be added in future and eliminates the need for a new GUI build each time a help file is modified.
