The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to establish the scope of work for Phase II to remedy a violation noted on the Annual Workplace Evaluation of having numerous types of wiring supported by the acoustical ceiling grid, a violation of NFPA 70, 300.11.This project is to remove all nonfunctional wiring and relocate all functional wiring that is presently lying on the acoustical ceiling. Cabling shall be supported from the ceiling (concrete) or walls. Cabling can also be placed into the existing cable trays. Support systems shall not rely on the use of pneumatic fasteners due to noise considerations in the hospital, expansion anchors are preferred. All work shall start at the IT closets. In all of the IT closet locations, the COR or a VA representative (availability dependent) must escort the Contractor at all times. Additionally in areas not occupied by staff, the COR or a VA representative must accompany the Contractor while working in these areas, such as private offices. Every effort shall be made by the Contractor not to disturb the occupants and VA patients in the areas of work. All work shall be planned and scheduled to minimize the activity’s impact on the operation of the Medical Center. Some areas listed will require daily scheduling. Project LocationsAll projects listed below start in the IT closet for that area. It is assumed that a majority of the wiring for the areas shown surrounding the closet are served from the identified closets, although in some instances wiring may go to another closet. Each area shall be completed before another area is started and approved by the COR.
