SEVEN TRUSTED LEADERS A seven-member Board of School Trustees establishes CCSD policy and employs the superintendent to serve as chief executive officer. Trustees are elected to four-year terms. Regular meetings of the board are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 5 p.m. in the Edward A. Greer Education Center, 2832 E. Flamingo Road. ABOUT CCSD

Established in 1956, the Clark County School District (CCSD) is the number one choice for families and students. We educate 320,000 students ? offering a variety of nationally recognized programs, including Magnet Schools, Career and Technical Academies, and Advanced Placement programs. Through these programs ? plus our online secondary school and our open enrollment offerings ? we offer the best choices to meet individual student needs. As the nation's fifth-largest school district, we have the ability to provide additional services such as a school police department, adult education courses, and innovative community partnerships with Vegas PBS and The Public Education Foundation. CCSD educates 75 percent of the students in Nevada and works closely with community partners and business leaders to educate the workers needed to strengthen our economy.

HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION RATES The graduation rate for the Class of 2018 hasn't been finalized yet, but for the 2016-17 school year, there were 20,030 graduates. CCSD's graduation rate in 2017 was 83.22%, a 16% increase since the Class of 2013.

EMPLOYEES As of October 1, 2018, the district employed 42,302 people, including full-time, part-time and temporary employees, plus substitutes:

? 1,352 administrators (principals, assistant principals, deans, central office, etc.)

BUDGET The general operating fund final budget for the 2018-19 school year is $2.457 billion, with basic per-pupil state funding at $5,779. Adding local revenue sources to state funding brings the total per-pupil expenditures to $8,959. This excludes Special Revenue Funds, Vegas PBS and Adult High School, as well as Capital, Debt, Food Service, and Internal Services Funds. The District receives revenue from various sources including:

? 41.4% local sales tax

? 31.3% state funding

? 19.1% property tax funding

? 5.7% government services tax, federal support, other

? 2.5% opening fund balance

FOOD SERVICE A range of programs that meet a broad spectrum of students' educational needs are available. During the 2017-18 school year, over 46 million meals were served.

FREE AND REDUCED-PRICE LUNCH For the 2017-18 school year, 63.84% of CCSD's students qualified for the federal free and reduced-price lunch program.

TRANSPORTATION The Clark County School District encompasses all of Clark County, which covers 7,910 square miles. It includes the metropolitan Las Vegas area and all outlying communities and rural areas.
