Monday, April 4

Topic/Objectives: Unit 4, Lessons 1 and 2 in text. (pages 210-261) The objectives in Unit 4, Lessons 1 and 2 include: describing people, telling others what to do, expressing wants, desires, doubt, denial, disbelief, and emotions. These objectives are completed along with the following grammar topic: use of the subjunctive mood to express wants, desires, doubt, denial, disbelief, and emotions. Vocabulary in this chapter includes descriptions of one’s personality, and professions.

In-Class Activities: Review definitions of Vocabulary List #8, assigned before Spring Break. Students will report to the computer lab today to complete the slides presentation from before Spring Break. In this presentation, students are writing original sentences in Spanish, expressing a variety of personality traits they have, as well as personality traits of a friend. Students will use the subjunctive mood as well as the indicative mood. Assignment is available through Google Classroom, as well as the handout in class. Complete online activities to review new vocabulary from our textbook’s website my.. This assignment is also posted in Google Classroom.

Homework: finish any work not completed in class; submit to Señora Hoffman-Fields and Señor Travers.

Tuesday, April 5

In-Class Activities: Review pronunciation of professions vocabulary – powerpoint presentation. Reading comprehension/ writing practice: text pages 215-216. Students will read a writing in Spanish about characters in a fictional TV show. Students will complete a chart and answer questions to demonstrate comprehension of the reading. The focus of this activity is to continue to familiarize students with the new vocabulary relating to describing people and professions. With a partner, students will then create an original TV show with characters they will describe in Spanish.

Wednesday, April 6

In-Class Activities: Miáucoles internet activity. Review (go over responses) to homework. Continue work with “Did You Get It?” vocabulary worksheet. (increasing difficulty with vocabulary practice) Survey activity – see text page 212 as an example activity. Students ask/answer questions in a personality survey. Guided Notes: Use of the Subjunctive with the word “ojalá” and verbs of hope. Online vocabulary review game – (quizlet live – available as an app or online)

In-Class Activities: Students report to the computer lab to complete online assignments. Assignments will be on as well as my.. The focus of these activities will be formation and use of the subjunctive mood. Vocabulary relating to description and professions is also a focus of today’s activities – continued games on Quizlet live.

Homework: complete any work not completed in class.
