More Skills 12 Create a Desktop Background Slide Show

Recall that a desktop slide show rotates through a series of pictures. In addition to Aero theme slide shows, you can create a slide show using your Pictures

Library or a specific folder that has personal photos.

To complete this project, you will need the following file: New blank WordPad document You will save your file as: Lastname_Firstname_w7_04_Slides 1. Right-click an empty area on the desktop, and then click Personalize. Below the gallery of

Aero themes, click Desktop Background. 2. In the Desktop Background window, click the Picture location button, and then click

Pictures Library. Compare your screen with Figure 1. If necessary, scroll to display the Sample Pictures folder in the Public Pictures folder.

Recall that a library is a collection of files from several different folders. Your computer may have additional or different pictures in its Pictures Library besides what is shown in Figure 1. When the Pictures Library is selected as the picture location, all pictures in the library will rotate through the desktop slide show. To select pictures from a specific folder, click the Browse button, and then select the desired folded.

3. In the Sample Pictures folder, click the first thumbnail--Chrysanthemum. Press and hold C, and then click the third and fifth pictures--Hydrangeas and Koala. If those pictures are not available in your Pictures Library, click three other pictures. Compare your screen with Figure 2.

4. Create a Full-screen Snip. Copy the snip, and then Close the markup window without saving the changes.

5. In the Desktop Background window, click Cancel, and then Close the Personalization window.

6. Start WordPad, and type your first and last name. Add a new line, and then type Windows 7 Chapter 4 More Skills 12 Add a new line, and then insert the Date and time. Add a new line, and then Paste the snip.

7. Click Save , and then in the Save As dialog box, navigate to your Windows 7 Chapter 4 folder. In the File name box, type Lastname_Firstname_w7_04_Slides and then click Save. If you are printing this project, print the WordPad document.

8. Exit WordPad. Submit the printout or WordPad file as directed by your instructor. You have completed More Skills 12
