Employee __________________ Signed ____________Job Description – Development Associate, Special EventsJob Title: Development Associate, Special Events Department/Location: Foundation / Marywood BuildingShift/Position Status:First/Exempt/Full Time 80General Job Description: The primary duty of the Development Associate is the management of all aspects of Holy Angels Foundation Special Events – from cultivating and securing sponsors, working with vendors, creative input on design and décor and encouraging participants in fundraising all in an effort to raise vital funds for our mission.? The Development Associate is also responsible for the recruitment of the in house fundraising program referred to as Employee Giving Tree and plans to annual recognition dinner for this event.? Hands Around Our School is an external fundraising program that the Development Associate also manages by giving presentations to local schools about intellectual, developmental disabilities and encourages elementary age children to “lend a helping hand” with fundraising.? The Development Associate also is responsible for the Annual Fund, any External Events, and other development initiatives.Salary Exemption: FLSA Title 29 CFR Part 541.2 AdministrativeExperience or Training required: Two to three years’ experience in development and special events is required. Minimum of one-year experience in data entry and mail merges, statistical analysis and report writing is preferred. Prefer experience with Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud fundraising software program. Experience working within a non-profit health and human service field is preferred. Excellent experience in Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrate good organizational skills, initiative, creativity, customer service skills, telephone skills and ability to represent Holy Angels in the community. Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to make presentations about Holy Angels in the community. Prefer membership in the Association of Fundraising Professionals local chapter. Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related field required. License or Certificate Required: Valid Driver’s License.Event Planning certification (preferred) Reports to: Chief Development Officer - Holy Angels Foundation ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Special Events:Plans, implements and evaluates special events: Carolina Classic Golf Tournament, Angel Bowl, Grazie Mille Italian Dinner and Clay Shoot, and other events as assigned.Maintains active sponsors/participants for all events Recruits new sponsors/participants for events.Manages all relationships with event participants, corporate or small business, community, civic, churches and schools. Recruits and maintains relationships with event volunteers, pre, during and post event. Manage database for events Prepares required analytical reports at the conclusion of the events Creates and follows revenue and expense budgets for events and assures that all events meet their monetary goal. Manage permanent records and notebooks for the events.Manages internal event participation for Holy Angels employees.Manages the overall “thank you” and recognition efforts for all special events.Manages specific external events as assigned by supervisor. Hands Around Our School Recruits new schools to participate in this fundraising program.Assures that all materials are printed and prepared for each school.Presents informational program to all schools including empathy training. Coordinates with assigned school personnel to manage the actual fundraising done by the students.Assures that collection of funds is well managed and secure.Conducts recognition event(s) for top class, top individual fundraiser, top school. Assures that annual budget goal is met. Employee Giving Tree ProgramPrepares annual appeal plan document to include measureable objectives for the recruitment of new members and to maintain the current number of members.Manage the entire annual program including the annual Board sponsored dinner.Throughout the year, makes presentations in New Hire Orientation to recruit new members.Assures that new members are recognized in SharePoint and on VCTV.Selects appropriate recognition gift for distribution at the annual Board sponsored annual dinner.Assures that all enrollment and payroll deduction forms are completed and secure. Other External EventsRepresents Holy Angels, Inc. at community events and/or external events wherein funds are raised to support Holy Angels Foundation, Inc., as delegated by supervisor.Pride in Gaston County ProgramProvides support to the Chief Development Officer - Holy Angels Foundation to implement the annual “Pride” program with Gaston County public and private schools. OtherMaintain an acceptable level of attendance and punctuality.Uphold Holy Angels human rights policies and confidentiality statement.Attend the required number of ART (Annual Renewal Training) ply with all safety and health policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned. ................
