The Research Data Supervisor II plans, organizes, and manages the research function; uses a variety of analytical and research techniques to solve complex problems; develops and evaluates alternatives; and analyzes data and presents ideas and information effectively.Supervision Received: Reports directly to the Chief of the Fee for Service Rates Development Division (FFSRDD)Supervision Exercised: The incumbent supervises multidisciplinary staff as follows: direct supervision of Staff Services Manager I (Long Term Care Systems Development Unit), and Research Data Supervisor I (Long Term Care Reimbursement Unit); and, indirect supervision of Research Data Analyst (RDA) II, Research Data Specialist I, and Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA). These staff work on Long Term Care (LTC) rate setting and policy issues. The incumbent is also responsible for overseeing the work progress of any contact staff who assist the Department with the development of a facility-specific rate of reimbursement.Description of Duties: As Chief of the LTC Section, the Research Data Supervisor II has an overall comprehension of management as well as research methodology and statistical procedures. The Research Data Supervisor II envisions, plans and conducts analyses of major policy issues associated with long term care rates; understands research or statistical methods and has the capability to manage analysts; oversees the preparation of regulations and bill analyses related to long term care rates and policies; synthesizes data from a variety of disciplines; and advises departmental staff, legislative bodies, governmental entities, commissions, and agencies on findings related to long term care facilities. This information is used in consultation with interested parties to assess the feasibility, impact, and potential of existing and proposed long term care facility rates and reimbursements.
