Im sorry if this is offensive but the toll lane project completely offends me and so many others that live in this area. Why not just widen I-77? Bad idea from the start and the way it's been handled from the ones who pushed this deal is offensive to so many people.

Hello,

I ask that you please cancel the toll contract. In general I am not opposed to tolls. Having lived in New York, Chicago, and St Pete Florida tolls are something I am used to. But and it's a big but in fact a but so big Sir Mix A Lot would like it, the tolls in those places had A. set prices that were affordable and B. for the most parts alternate routes that may add a few miles to your commute but still relatively traffic free C. for NY and Chicago there were great mass transit options to avoid tolls and roads. With these tolls prices have high caps, if any. No alternate routed that aren't even more backed up, have you tried to drive Statesville Road from exit 28 to 23 lately??? Probably not because walking would be faster. Have you taken the train from Charlotte to Cornelius lately, it is absolutely fantastic...wait sorry was dreaming for a moment, it doesn't exist.

Right now I live in Cornelius and work Uptown and most days ride the bus. Even on the bus traffic sucks. Soon my office is moving to Ballantyne. I need an option to get to work without paying $20 each way or it taking forever to get to work. Frankly I can't afford those tolls and the added time will create strains for my family. Living in a city as large as Charlotte I shouldn't have to deal with this. Get rid of the tolls and give us a "free" lane (I pay taxes so it isn't even free really but that's a whole other email i will spare you from).

Sorry this is getting long. Aside from the direct personal impacts I mentioned this is a horrible contract. Whoever signed it should be fired, bye McCory!! It leaves on the hook for way too much downside risk without any upside potential and no relief to traffic. It has bad impacts to business and every day folk like me. I know the traffic causes me to go uptown less except for work but they make me do that. I won't even get into how horrible and unsafe the construction has been.

Thank you

Ryan Gray

As a resident of Cornelius, NC, I am totally opposed to the toll lane project. I will never travel in a toll lane on I-77. The towns in North Mecklenburg County were all opposed to the toll lane project, but the way the CRTPO is set up, the towns and the residents are not represented fairly. Charlotte has way too much say in the way roads in the area are built. That disparity resulted in a go-ahead with this ridiculous project. It will not relieve traffic congestion on I-77. If the contract is not changed to make at least one of the express toll lanes into a free lane then this project will end up going bankrupt like the Spanish company has done in other states.

It's a shame that the public doesn't get to vote on massive issues such as this. Whoever believes this is a good project or that it will solve the traffic problems in North Mecklenburg County has no clue. Please change the outcome of this very bad project to something that will actually help those of us who live on this end of the county.

I am a Charlotte Resident. The I-77 toll lane is the dumbest thing I have seen. One it is going to limited growth in the Lake Norman area and the contract allows for no other relief for traffic for 50 years. This is going to push more growth into SC and NC will loose. I know this because I am thinking about moving my business out side of Charlotte and it has me thinking SC is the way I am going to go to grow my business. We move special trucks in and out of Charlotte Daily and we all cringe when we have to send trucks north up 77. The state should own up that is made a mistake in allowing the toll road and buy out the contract.

This has been a disaster from the start. We are already paying taxes to support roads, and the toll fees i have heard are extremely high. Ultimately hope this is reversed or the partner goes bankrupt on this project.

If the state of NC would use the highway trust fund for only highways, than we would not need toll lanes. But, this shows we can't trust our politicians! There should be NO toll lanes!!!

This is perhaps the worst contract by a state agency I have EVER witness. A high school student could have negotiated a better outcome for the citizens who live along 77. I certainly don't object to the widening, it's the tolls for years, the inability to widen any parallel highways (115 and 21) Can't widen 77 again for what 30 years??? I know many people who are leaving the area just because of the traffic, which with this deal is only going to get worst. You really screwed up on this one!!!! I am very glad to see that the state hired an outside company to analyze the I77 project and its contract with Mobility Partners. I feel the state did a very poor job communicating with the public and allowing the public to provide feedback on this terrible deal. I live in Mooresville and my community is greatly impacted by this project. I also don't think it's fair that the city of Charlotte has so much sway with issues that impact my community 25+ miles away and in a different county.

I would like to see this contract canceled even if it requires a cancelation fee of $300m. This is the fault of the NC government, their poor decisions, and their inability to listen to the people.

Thanks, Scot Mann
