What is nutrition? For many this means a balanced, healthy diet. Perhaps your goal is not to lose weight, but to connect with your doctor more often than you currently do. The busy of today’s modern life, coupled with easily attainable processed, fast foods, can hinder our overall health. As you work to address your own personal goals, remember that a healthy mind and body is pivotally important to your ability to think clearly, as well as perform necessary objectives. Use the journal below to jot down what you eat for a week.

We often eat meals and snacks without fully paying attention to what we consume. Likewise, since processed foods are cheaper and often have higher calorie content, we often buy these items for cheap, easily attainable energy. The challenge with this is that it is not good for our health. And while the energy derived from our cheap processed food helps momentarily, we often feel sluggish, run down and overly tired as a result of not eating a balanced diet.

What then is a balanced diet? A balanced diet means eating the right types of food. The following outlines approved suggestions for the types and quantity of foods that constitutes a balanced diet. ()

Now use the graph below to chart a new week. Write down the foods and liquids that you consume within this week and pay particular attention to abiding as best as possible to the balanced food chart supplied above.
