The7-digitengineidentificationisonthecrankcase.Thefirstsixdigitsoftheengineidentification arederivedfromtheenginetype.Onlytheseventhdigitisdifferent.Theseventhdigitoftheengine identificationisthetestnumberofthetypeapprovalcertification.

Theconsecutiveenginenumberisembossedabovetheengineidentification.Usingthesetwo numberstheenginecanbeclearlyidentifiedbythemanufacturer.
