Academic Literacy Text Structure Poster Performance Task
You are a newspaper editor and you are interviewing people for a journal writing position on your newspaper. You want your new employee to know how important text structure and text features are in writing a newspaper. Subsequently, you came up with the brilliant idea to design a poster showing several different text features and describing the different types of text structures. Your poster must include a minimum of five different text features. In addition, your poster must include descriptive information on each of the following text structures: Enumeration, Sequence, Problem/Solution, Cause/Effect, Compare/Contrast, and Question/Answer. Finally, you will want to include the acronym P.I.E. with an explanation. Feel free to add any additional information you feel might be important for a new journal writer to know about the newspaper business.
You will be graded on content, mechanics, creativity, appearance, and presentation in accordance to the attached rubric. You will be given one class day to put the finishing touches on your poster. That day will be November 24th. Your completed project will be due November 25th.
