We do this through refining the strategy, building or re-shaping the team to execute that strategy, and by improving operations. Industries: Services, niche manufacturing and value-added distribution and logistics. Primarily providers of industrial or commercial services or products.Responsibilities—short term:----Take the lead in digital marketing, CRM and ERP solutions across the portfolio.-Develop marketing strategy, recognizing that marketing strategy is closely linked to company overall strategy.-Lead utilization of digital marketing tools and associated analytics/targeting devices.-Drive execution and continual upgrading of capabilities.-Achieve improved differentiation, lead generation and sales capture.-Bring expertise to bear to assist portfolio companies in the selection and implementation of information technology upgrades including ERP, CRM, cybersecurity and other technology solutions.Initial Projects:-Implement effective Digital marketing strategies and execution in all existing portfolio companies.-Implement effective CRM solutions in all existing portfolio companies.-Evaluate possible investment opportunities with Investing Team Members.Responsibilities—long term (2-3 years)-Assume lead operational role where best fit on either existing or new portfolio companies.--Be the face of the fund to the portfolio companies.-- Become the “trusted advisor” and strive to keep CEOs focused on execution of the overall investment strategy and longer term projects.--Develop with portfolio company CEOs the post-transaction strategic initiatives to be completed during the term of investment to create value.--Ensure that strategic initiatives are executed along the plan that was developed and approved.--Meet periodically between Board meetings with portfolio CEOs and key employees to provide guidance and act as sounding board for issues.--Work with CEOs to help them prepare for Board meetings.--Lead certain investments from the operational perspective.--Travel is required but largely can be self-directed.--Visit companies that may be prospective investments.--Meet with business owners and communicate our differentiating features in the marketplace and convince them of the advantages of an affiliation with our firm.--Assume interim operating responsibilities should the need arise within a portfolio company.--This person would also be involved with transaction sourcing, general marketing activities, transaction evaluation, and discussion with the Principals..Qualifications:--10-15 years experience in marketing including hands on experience as a practitioner of digital marketing including application of digital maketing tools. --Candidate will have been CMO/CDO/CTO/CIO in a business to business setting.--Ability to support the identification and selection of ERP platforms.--Experience with Salesforce and other CRM platforms.--Ability to assist with building the use of information technology into the strategy of our companies through product/service offerings, automation, and other means.--Corporate or entrepreneurial management experience.--Able to develop credibility quickly with business owners and portfolio company CEOs.--Entrepreneurial spirit; the ability to motivate, oversee, and mentor small business executives.--Intense desire for success and excellence.Contact:Richard D.
