Provider Portal Account Management Tools ? New in 2022

As an authorized Practice Administrator, you have been given new tools that allow for management of Dignity Health HIE user accounts for existing members of your practice.

Why am I receiving these permissions?

We are pleased to provide you with the ability to assist your staff with their Dignity Health HIE access and ensure that their access stays up to date without interruption.

What permissions do I have?

As an authorized Practice Administrator, you are responsible for following best security practices and ensuring users adhere to terms of use. You will have the ability to do the following for members of your practice:

Update a user's account information such as: name, email address, phone number Unlock or extend a disabled user account for a member of your group Create a single-use, temporary password for new users within your group Inactivate a user account when a user departs or goes on leave Assign a user to another role within your practice

Can I change a username?

Once a username is created, it is a permanent record. A user's first or last name may be updated if it requires a spelling correction. If an existing user requires a username change, a new user account must be requested and the old one should be inactivated. Usernames should not be reused or shared.

Can I create new users?

At this time, new users will continue to be requested via a request and approval process located via the Request Access button on your Dignity Health HIE login page.

What else is changing?

For a more secure workflow, the process for setting up new user accounts will change. Cerner will create the user accounts, and you will set up their initial one-time password. Providing a password to your new user should occur after they have been co-signed.
