CURRICULUM CORNER…..Susan Bennett, Literacy Facilitator

Our Dr. Seuss Day on Wednesday was a huge success! A sincere “thank you” goes out to Carey W.’s parents and all of the other PTO members who helped with this annual event. We had many wonderful volunteers who donated time to read aloud. Our students enjoyed singing Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss, listening to some fantastic books, and being treated to some yummy refreshments. We appreciate everyone who helped to make this celebration of reading such a fun experience for our students! We hope that all of our Metro families are finding time each day to read to and with their child. Please be on the lookout for information concerning our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. It will be a great opportunity to support our school while bringing some new books into your home.

Congratulations to Joel T.! He is our Metro Star Student of the Week. Joel is a student in Ms. Shannon Martin’s transition level class. Ms. Cynthia Charles and Mr. Bruce Crede are the teaching assistants. Joel received his star student badge and certificate during the closed circuit broadcast of the Thursday morning announcements. Keep up the great work, Joel! We are very proud of you!
