DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing, improving, implementing, and evaluating the organization's marketing and communications efforts. This position strategizes, manages, and oversees the implementation of activities that promote increased awareness of the organization and engagement around our mission. This position works to ensure consistent messaging and outreach to all internal and external audiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Leads the development and implementation of Kennedy Catholic's communications, marketing, media/PR, and branding strategies. ? Oversees development and dissemination of communications as it relates to raising awareness of Kennedy Catholic with donors, community partners and business, staff, volunteers, and the advisory board. Includes marketing and communications for development, fundraising and admissions. ? Develops, manages, and executes an annual strategic marketing and communications plan and calendar to span across all communication avenues to reach appropriate target audiences, based upon specific organization goals (strategic plan). Evaluates the success of various strategies and provides and implements recommendations for improvement. ? Provides direction and strategy for Kennedy Catholic's website and social media presence, including content management, SEO, and integration with other software and tools. ? Develops, writes, edits, and creates a wide range of collateral and messaging for a diverse array of recipients, partnering with colleagues across the organization to guide messaging strategy to various stakeholder groups. ? Participates as an active member of Kennedy Catholic's leadership and development teams, furthering the culture of positive collaboration and teamwork between marketing/communications and other departments. ? Oversees planning and production of materials to create a cohesive image and message for all print and online communication vehicles, including weekly e-newsletters, brochures, flyers, posters, annual magazine, annual report, event collateral, advertising, and social media materials. ? Help develop and execute internal communications and advises and supports staff on all marketing and communication strategies. ? Serves as brand manager for Kennedy Catholic, working with creative manager and across departments to not only ensure consistent messaging, but also to maintain cohesive style, voice, and design. Proofs all major external pieces on behalf of all departments. ? Represents Kennedy Catholic at events and media opportunities providing support to other speakers as needed. ? Develops, implements, and monitors budget. Ensures return on investment targets are met for the projects assigned. ? Supervises, mentors, and evaluates the marketing/communications team.

? Manage crisis communications as needed. ? Participates in events, committees, boards, and meetings as required. ? Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility: This position directly manages two marketing and communications professionals including the Digital Marketing Manager and Creative Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:

? Ability to create, articulate, and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. ? Ability to develop, monitor, and manage an expense budget. ? Ability to manage and mentor a team. ? Advanced understanding of multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter. ? Advanced level understanding of website, social media, and email SEO and analytics. ? Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and produce well under pressure. ? Ability to establish and maintain cooperative external/internal working relationships, demonstrating effective interpersonal skills. ? Ability to work independently, exercising initiative and good judgment and work collaboratively within and across teams. ? Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including engaging and effective presentation and public speaking skills. ? Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and diplomacy skills. ? Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to plan, follow through and complete complex projects. ? Ability to adapt to changing needs and drive change across the organization.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

? Minimum 10+years professional experience managing marketing and communications programs in a non-profit environment required.
