JOB DESCRIPTIONPost Title:Partnership Manager (Health and Social Care)Hours:35 hours per week (flexible working/reduced hours available)Salary:Grade 8 Points 40 – 43 (?33,769 - ?36,381) Term:Initially to March 2022Responsible to:GCVS Director of External AffairsLocation:GCVS Offices/ Glasgow HSCP OfficesMain purpose of this postThis post is funded by Glasgow HSCP to ensure that the voluntary / third sector in Glasgow is involved in the development of new ways of working to improve the health and wellbeing of Glasgow’s people. This will include understanding issues, designing and testing new approaches, building collaborations for change and evaluating impact. The post-holder will have a key role in building the relationship and developing understanding between the public and voluntary sector in the city. Key DutiesThe post-holder will have to manage a complex set of relationships and agendas. The public and voluntary sector share a strong desire to improve outcomes in the city but have different cultures and challenges. Success in this post will be measured by the extent to which health and social care services are designed and delivered collaboratively across agencies (regardless of sector) and with communities. Key duties will include:Participating in (and supporting voluntary sector colleagues to participate in) strategic discussions and design processes, so that the voluntary sector is able to contribute ideas, knowledge and resources.Using events, networks, briefings and other tools to develop voluntary sector knowledge about and inclusion in health and social care policy, design and deliveryWork with Glasgow HSCP colleagues to facilitate the development of the relationship between the sectors – particularly around service design, commissioning, operational relationships and understanding.Work with colleagues across sectors to facilitate collaborative approaches to funding and commissioning opportunitiesThe post holder is expected to work closely with HSCP colleagues, other GCVS staff and voluntary sector organisations. This will include some days based within the Glasgow HSCPs offices as part of a wider change management team. Specific Duties are likely to include:Directly representing the voluntary sector on strategic development groups.Facilitating networks of organisations that contribute to health and social care.Providing written updates to the voluntary sector on developments, they should be aware of.Supporting voluntary sector representatives on health and social care structures.Developing understanding of the voluntary sector contribution to health and social care.Developing understanding of the issues faced by voluntary sector organisations in health and social care and, where agreed, providing information, support and guidance to voluntary organisations.Working closely with public sector colleagues to identify and design improvements in the health and social care system.Facilitating voluntary sector collaborative to design, identify resource for, and deliver health and social care related interventions.Additional Information:It is the nature of work at GCVS that task and responsibilities in many circumstances are unpredictable and varied.All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises so those tasks, which are not specifically covered in their job description, are undertaken. These additional duties will normally be compatible with the regular type of work required by the post. If the additional responsibility or tasks become a regular or frequent part of the employee’s job, it will be included in the job description in consultation with the employee. Employees must report immediately to their Line Manager any breaches of Health & Safety procedures, any accidents or safety related incidents and any unsafe acts.Employment conditionsThe following terms and conditions are typically offered to GCVS staff on fixed term and permanent contracts, and are set out here for your information only. Terms and conditions may vary according to circumstances and this summary does not form part of any subsequent employment contract.Annual leave entitlement: 25 days per annum and 28 days after 10 years’ service. 13.5 fixed public holidays.Paid sickness absence entitlement during first year of service is 4 weeks at full pay and 4 weeks at half pay, based on contractual hours and calculated on a rolling basis. This entitlement increases with service.Based primarily at GCVS, 11 Queens Crescent, Glasgow G4 9AS.References will be sought from previous employers prior to appointment.Probationary period:3 months with a review at 3 months. During the first 3 months the contract may be terminated with 1 weeks’ notice, thereafter it will be 4 weeks.Pension:Contributory pension through Pension Trust GCVS contributes 6% salary on condition the member of staff contributes at least 4%. This can be joined on completion of three months employment.Life Assurance:2 times your salary payable on death in service.Flexi time; GCVS operates a flexi-time system, core hours 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.00.
