Senior Digital Marketing Executive

Location: flexible

Overview

BFBS is a modern, vibrant and forward-focused media organisation and charity with a rich heritage of entertaining, informing, connecting and championing the UK armed forces, their families and veterans.

Our backgrounds, skills and experience are diverse. But we all share a commitment to trust, quality, innovation and going the extra mile – as well as a passion for what we do and a genuine commitment to the well-being of the UK armed forces community.

Our audiences trust what we say and the quality of what we deliver. We take this responsibility seriously so are committed to excellence, and to developing the knowledge and expertise of our people.

We are looking for a highly creative, positive-thinking and experienced senior digital marketing executive to further support our digital transformation across multiple channels.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the successful candidate will sit within the marketing and communications team, a small, friendly and close-knit team which also includes a PR manager, stakeholder communications manager and marketing executive. The role will also work very closely with our digital editors and with the social media team who manage our social media platforms.

You previously have worked within a busy communications and marketing team, ideally for a charity or not-for-profit organisation, and will be a strong team player, but with the ability to work independently and to tight deadlines on occasion.

The role is flexible, ideally with a mix of home-based and office working in time, as well as occasional travel to London and elsewhere in the UK.

You will be required to undergo Security Check level security clearance.

Job responsibilities

• Work with the Director of Marketing & Communications to shape and deliver a digital marketing strategy for BFBS, which will include implementing and championing a new CRM system and associated marketing tools (Dynamics and Customer Voice) across the organisation

• Shape and create content for marketing and communications campaigns on social media and other digital platforms – and help BFBS to grow its digital marketing capability

• Lead, create and manage paid digital advertising and organic marketing campaigns across a range of social media platforms and for different audiences to build awareness of and engagement with BFBS

• Monitor and evaluate data from campaigns to inform and shape future campaign strategy and share in a user-friendly format with internal and external stakeholders

• Understand BFBS business priorities in order to advise on how to target relevant audiences more effectively

• Stay up to date with digital trends and use the learnings to collaborate with the social media and digital content teams to improve BFBS’ digital performance

Person specification

• Previous experience of implementing digital marketing strategies and a broad range of digital skills, as well as using data to improve marketing campaigns

• Extensive demonstrable experience of B2C (and ideally B2B) social media campaigns, including managing paid for social media advertising for campaigns

• Experience in developing email marketing campaigns for different audiences, including creating, editing and proofing content with excellent attention to detail

• In-depth understanding of and interest in different digital channels and digital marketing best practice, including analysing and reporting on all digital marketing activities, sharing your findings with the team, and making recommendations

• Strong experience of creative content production, effective copy writing and video editing

• Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics, Google AdWords, SEO, Content Marketing, social media strategies and A/B testing

• Significant experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM and marketing automation
