ABOUT THE POSITION

The Director of Operations reports to the COO. This person's primary responsibility is to lead and manage the day-to-day functions of the Production Operations. This responsibility includes but is not limited to creating production schedules, resource allocations, management of direct labor and support of outgoing shipments.

The role of the Director of Operations is to provide leadership, supervisor, coordination, and direction for operations to ensure conformance to quality standards, meeting delivery targets, and financial goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Provide leadership, coordination, and direction for all production operations and facility maintenance to meet budget.

? Facilitate the establishment and implementation of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing cycle-time reduction concepts, and plans.

? Oversee the management of Production floor inventory levels, manufacturing costs, and on- time delivery to customers.

? Promote the concept of individual responsibility for product quality. Drive toward meeting Organizational targeted quality levels.

? Provide leadership and management for facility maintenance for safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, etc.)

? Provide regularly scheduled facilities maintenance and repairs as needed.

? Conduct annual performance reviews of your direct reports and confirm all Production personnel are receiving their annual reviews.

? Prepare annual departmental budget including direct labor costs, facilities improvements, and annual compensation adjustments.

? Manage performance to key performance indicator goals - on-time delivery, cycle time, overhead efficiency, and productivity per employee.

? Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management.

? Manage the expansion of facilities and the acquisition and installation of capital equipment.

? Provide leadership for and development of Production Supervisors ? establishing priorities, accountabilities, and allocating resources, guiding achievement of performance measures.

? Participate in recruiting, selection and development of all operations personnel.

? Provide input for hiring, terminations, transfers, salary adjustments, and promotions.

? Perform other assignments as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE ? Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline. Any other degree would require a minimum of 10 years' experience.

? Minimum 7-10 years' experience showing progression in management, with supervisory experience.

? Experienced in consumer goods manufacturing is considered a strong plus.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS ? Working knowledge of electronics manufacturing operations, staffing, safety, and maintenance. ? Working knowledge of SPC, TQM, Lean Manufacturing, ISO standards, IPC standards. ? Demonstrated project management experience--planning, budget, allocation of resources. ? Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal customers and external visitors. ? Negotiation and conflict management skills together with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving. ? Intermediate level of computer skills in email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. ? Ability to write and speak effectively with employees at all levels within the organization. ? Detail oriented with attention to accuracy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time, and also to stand; walk; and stoop. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The position requires long periods of working at a computer.
