|ROLE PURPOSE: |

|The role holder will support the Deputy CEO to implement and drive the delivery of a number of key strategic projects, which will be |

|agreed and scoped according to the needs of the organisation. The role is key to ensure continued member engagement and strategic |

|alignment across the whole of the organisation and is responsible for successfully leading the strategic planning cycle as well as |

|strategy execution and delivery of goals across members and Save the Children International (SCI). |

| |

|Role Dimensions: a complex, business-partnering role, which demands good project management skills, building effective relationships |

|across the Save the Children movement as well as having a good grasp of trends and connections to the outside world (corporates and |

|public sector). A close working relationship will be required with the Director for Member Growth, the CFO and senior finance team |

|leads as well as the equivalent roles in some of the larger members’ organisations and the senior leadership teams in smaller |

|members. |

|KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : |

| |

|Strategy Design and Communications: Lead development, set-up and implementation of a Save the Children strategy cycle and |

|organizational performance. |

|Organizational Performance: Lead process to monitor overall performance against goals (and relative to peers). |

|Alignment and Integration across the Save the Children movement: Play a lead role in efforts to align on strategy and execution, |

|with members and SCI. |

|Special projects. As determined by Deputy CEO and CEO, to optimize delivery on strategic goals and support change management efforts.|

|These could include: |

|To strategise and deliver a concrete plan on how to take advantage of external financing opportunities to support our member growth |

|aspirations and drive this to implementation. |

| |

|Leading the set up and implementation of a new accountability framework for the overall movement and be the focal point for small |

|members and support them in their organisational development. |

|Leading the set-up of (member) peer reviews and project managing them |

|Leading the project and subsequent action plan for growing and leveraging venture partners (BCG support) and in particular drive |

|knowledge management initiatives (together with Internal Communications, Global Initiative Directors and International Programs |

|team). |

|Be the SCI focal point for specific strategic initiatives across the movement (which sometimes means a lead role and at times a more |

|supportive, following one). |

|QUALIFICATIONS |

|Master’s Degree or equivalent professional experience at the same or similar level |

|EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS |

|Proven leadership at a senior level, preferably in a multi-cultural context, and ability to work in a networked organisation, |

|influencing others through ‘soft power’ |

|Experience in leading the creation and implementation of a strategy, demonstrating the ability to identify the necessary steps |

|towards an ambitious goal. |

|Extensive experience in program and/or organisational planning, change management, and communications with executive leadership |

|External orientation and business understanding: being able to advise senior leaders on the impact of decisions made |

|Proven experience in management, facilitation and training of initiatives with large staff, involving diverse and geographically |

|disparate stakeholder groups |

|Experience as a leader of organisational development or change management initiatives and teams |

|A track record of successful project management in a complex organisation, with a proven ability to forge consensus and drive action |

|Able to think creatively and strategically, overcome obstacles to cooperation and progress |

|Experience of building personal networks at senior levels, resulting in improved engagement |

|Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in |

|Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting |
