Director of Programs and InitiativesPosition Description Job PurposeThe Director of Programs and Initiatives is responsible for the management and oversight of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas strategic initiatives, Women Empowered and Girls of Promise?; and their associated projects and activities. They will be responsible for working with initiative steering committees on their ongoing evaluation and implementation in order to meet the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas stated goals and objectives in accordance with its Strategic Plan. This Director level position reports directly to and works closely with the Executive Director. Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Programs and Initiatives primary function is to grow WFA initiatives and impact in creating economic mobility for women and girls in Arkansas. The position has specific responsibilities for the coordination, planning, implementation and evaluation of the Women Empowered (WE) and Girls of Promise Initiatives (GOP) including, but not limited to the individual items listed below.Establish each year, working from the WFA goals and objectives and strategic plan, strategy for WE and GOP Initiatives.Assist in the development and oversight of Initiative Budgets. Serve as Project Manager for affiliated memberships associated with each initiative.Act as Project Manager for WFA’s portfolio of direct service programs for women and girls.Manage, guide, and, provide direction to support team members including but not limited to Graduate Interns, AmeriCorp VISTAs, and Organizational VolunteersRepresent the organization at community activities to enhance the organization’s community profileCommunicate with stakeholders to keep them informed about each initiative, their projects and programs, and solicit support for larger initiativeEstablish good working relationships and collaborative models with community groups, individual stakeholders, and other organizations/institutions to help achieve the strategic goals of each initiative and the WFAWork closely with the WFA program volunteers providing them operational support. Work closely with WFA Communications team to ensure branding and messaging are in accordance with brand standards and relevant to intended audiences. Participate with the staff and the Board of Directors in dynamic team environment to steward the organization’s resources in ways that support the adopted Strategic Plan.Other duties as assigned that support the goals and objectives of the WFAEducationBachelor’s degree in a related field or four years of related experience requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of project management, program planning, teaching, and facilitation techniquesKnowledge and/or experience in volunteer management. Prior volunteer history a plusKnowledge of evaluation methods and analytical skills Knowledge of women’s issues and statistics for women and children Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit/voluntary organizationsHighly adaptable in a small team, self-directed environment.Ability to work in face paced, demanding project environmentSolid organizational skills, including multitasking and time managementExcellent communication skills, including written and verbal. Strong presentation skills, with competence in public speaking and networking.Demonstrated experience in website and social media management a plus but not mandatory.Must be able to thrive in a non traditional work environment, flexible and innovative when confronted with challenges and mitment and desire to the WFA Mission and helping the organization achieve its goals and objectives.ExperienceHigh Level Project ManagementSupervisor or Team Management Experience preferredThree or more years of program planning and development experience in a voluntary sector organization preferred. Comparable work experience or education/training will be accepted.Experience in advocacy related to economic equity, social justice, and or gender highly regarded. ................
