The Director of Provider Enrollment and Credentialing leads and directs the system-wide provider enrollment/credentialing functions for UMPhysicians, including assessment of current systems, procedures and personnel to ensure regulatory compliance, accreditation and legal requirements. Evaluates and recommends process improvements for all employed and outsourced functions, and recommends purchases of appropriate systems to facilitate best practice operations in the provider enrollment/credentialing function.  Oversees all provider enrollment/credentialing functions, including management of all provider enrollments/credentialing personnel.  Communicates and interacts with physicians, senior leaders, and staff, within UMMC-FV, other hospital medical staff offices, AHC, third party payers and other appropriate personnel on provider enrollment/credentialing related issues.  Manages the automated provider enrollment/credentialing databases; the system credentialing edits and other credentialing duties as needed. Responsible for the Meaningful Use registration process and functions, ensuring all of our providers are enrolled in the program, initially and then annually or as new providers join, or terminate, as well as oversees the attestation data entry process. Assists Sr. Director of Contracting and Credentialing Services on contract negotiations and renewals as needed.

To qualify for this role, you must possess:

• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

• 5- 7 years of progressive credentialing management in a large multi-practice setting.

• Developed relationships and experience with third party payers around credentialing and contract issues impacting revenue cycle performance.

• Overall understanding of the registration and data entry processes related to Meaningful Use.

• Demonstrated knowledge of credentialing database software and the Minnesota Credentialing collaborative platform.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Leadership and influence skills.

• Critical thinking and problem resolution skills.

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration

• CPCS and/or CPMSM certification and hospital credentialing.

• Knowledge of risk management and HIMS experience.

• Progressive experience working with medical staff leadership, senior management and Joint Commission requirements.

• Proven proficiency with OneApp, ApplySmart, maintains a collaborative working relationship with local Hospital Medical Staff offices, and the Minnesota Credentialing Collaborative.
