ReflectionI chose the final project as the artifact CSOL 570 because this assignment it was a compilation of all the trade studies performed during the entire course. This course allowed me to get hands-on with tools I currently use in my professional environment, such as the Nessus Scanner. Nessus is used my many security professionals in this field and has been around for many years. This tool is the scanning component of ACAS that is compliant with not only SVE vulnerability identifiers, but also DISA STIGs, that are used within DoD and governmental services. This tool allows organizations such as the DoD to ensure compliance within the cybersecurity world is maintained. Not only were we able to get hands-on with great tools but we carried out trade studies and compared them to similar tools. This skill developed in this course is important in a professional environment because security practitioners must convince management and other stakeholders on why an organization should spend money on certain tools and products.Lastly, I want to speak on the importance of ethics when it comes to handling tools used in this course. Tools such as Kismet and nmap. These tools are free to use for anyone who has access to the internet and can be utilized in an ethical sense or malicious sense. It is important that aspiring security practitioners and current practitioners ensure professionalism and proper ethics when handling these tools. To ensure this field continues to grow in the right direction, professionalism and good ethics must be put at the forefront and not be overlooked. ................
