FEDERAL AND PROVINCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS

Various types of support are available to persons with physical disabilities. Each province offers

its own support programs and the federal government also sponsors various initiatives. The

following programs primarily target people with a disability. Be sure to closely examine the

definition of ¡°disabled person,¡± which not only varies by province, but also in some cases, from

one program to the next.

The different provincial programs contain certain similarities. Most provinces, for example, offer

a home modification program, job search assistance and home assistance.

The following chart outlines opportunities for grants and assistance open to certain

hemophiliacs.
