Prerequisite: CIS 2335 or Instructor’s permission.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the course students will be able to understand.

1. Networking fundamentals with applications in modern business;

2. the technologies/products underlying modern communication networking systems such as those based on Windows 2012;

3. a knowledge of some management issues concerning network planning, implementation and administration

4. understand the terminologies used in communication networking;

5. the issues involved in designing and implementing an organization’s networking systems.

Students understanding of the course and ability to meet these objectives will be measured by the course examinations, projects, papers, presentations, quizzes. In-class and outside assignments will be used throughout the course to develop the students’ understanding and ability to meet the objectives.

Grading: 1. 3 Exams 30% (10% each)

2. Lab Exercises 20%

3. 2 Power Point Presentation of a CASE 15%

4. 2 projects 15%

5. Quizzes 20%
