Sarah Baynes, Director – The Creative Garden

Sarah heads up the creative media consultancy, The Creative Garden. She specialises in concept creation and development within the creative industries for leading global companies. She advises international broadcasters, creatives and opinion-formers on a range of issues including channel launches, multi-platform ventures and characterisation within children's animation.

Before establishing The Creative Garden, Sarah was a Commissioner at Channel 4. She was part of the launch team and commissioner for 'The Big Breakfast' before assuming responsibilities for the first youth branded slots for T4. She has extensive experience in Children's Entertainment, Youth and Entertainment.

Anne Brogan, Director – Kindle Entertainment

Anne has worked at a number of the major UK children's TV companies, including Thames TV and BBC Education. After a short period at Disney International, she moved to Granada Kids as Head of Drama, becoming Controller in 2004 to lead a thriving production department with a broad slate of programming, spanning pre-school, animation, entertainment and drama. 

In 2007, Anne and Melanie founded Kindle Entertainment. In just over five years, Kindle has established a reputation in the market place for fresh, innovative, high quality content that appeals to a wide age range – always with a twist of surprise. Kindle Entertainment have won the Children’s BAFTA for Independent Production Company of the year for two years running. Anne lives in London with a teenage daughter, a husband, a dog and a number of mice, but she is hoping they (the mice) will move out soon.

Greg Childs, Editorial Director – The Children’s Media Conference

Greg Childs worked for over 25 years at the BBC, mainly as a director, producer and executive-producer of children’s programmes. He created the first Children’s BBC websites and, as Head of Children’s Digital, developed and launched the children’s channels, CBBC and CBeebies. Since leaving the BBC in 2004 Greg has advised producers on digital, interactive and cross-platform strategies, and broadcasters on channel launches, digital futures and management support. He was in the launch teams for Teachers TV and the CITV Channel in the UK, and was advisor to the Al Jazeera Children’s Channel for three years. He is currently consulting with the EBU on their Children's and Youth strategy.

At the same time, as Editorial Director of the Children's Media Conference, Greg has grown this annual event into a gathering of over 800 delegates, with 150 speakers, and spin-off events and activities year-round. He is also one of the Heads of Studies at the German Akademie Fur Kindermedien, and has recently taken on the role of Director of a new UK organisation – The Children’s Media Foundation. Greg was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2010 in recognition of his contribution to children’s rights and culture.

Tony Collingwood – Director, Collingwood O’Hare Entertainment

Tony has been creating, writing and directing animated shows through his own company since 1988. His credits include 'Dennis the Menace', and BAFTA award winning shows, 'Yoko! Jakamoko! Toto!' and 'The Secret Show'.  He is currently producing the Dr. Seuss series, 'The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!' and directing a one hour 'Cat in the Hat Christmas Special' for CITV, PBS and other broadcasters worldwide, hopefully finishing it before Christmas!

Gina Fegan, Screen & Digital Media Specialist - UK Trade & Investment

Gina is a Screen & Digital Media Specialist at UK Trade & Investment and is an international specialist on the emerging relationships between traditional media, new technologies and telecommunications. She advises global media companies, financing organisations, creative content producers and public sector agencies. She is also an active film producer (‘The Tournament’, ‘Devil’s Playground’). Gina is on the Arts and Humanities Research Council advisory board, BBC online advisory board, the advisory committee for Digital Hollywood and is a member of BAFTA. Gina founded the D-Media Network, which has 4,000 followers from across the creative industries.

Colette Galza, Business Affairs Associate – Rights TV

Colette is an experienced and well established media lawyer (Solicitor). Her many years in the broadcasting industry expands across music, film and in particular, television production and co-production.

Prior to joining Colette ran her own successful business affairs consultancy working closely with a number of independent producers and the main UK broadcasters. As part of her long career in the industry, Colette was instrumental in helping to implement the ITV Network’s Code of Practice and its initial Terms of Trade when the Network was first created in 1993.  As the Network’s Senior Legal Adviser, she played a pivotal role in the establishment of Network policies especially with regard to the independent production community. Colette has worked closely, not only with the ITV Network and the ITV regional broadcaster and other UK broadcasters, but also with key industry bodies including Pact, OFCOM, Directors UK, and often in conjunction with the other broadcasters on pan industry issues (e.g. as Chair of the Alliance for the Protection of Copyright which is the industry body overseeing the APC Code of Practice referred to in all of the major UK broadcaster’s Codes of Practice).

Dominic Gardiner, Managing Director – Gardiner Entertainment

Dominic is a strategic consultant enabling kids and family focused companies reach the next level in development, production, marketing and distribution.  Dominic joined Disney as Director of Acquisitions, Worldwide Programming Strategy in June 2009. In this capacity he was responsible for creating and executing third party acquisitions strategy for the Disney Channels Multiplex in EMEA. Dominic joined Jetix in September 2006 as Director of Programming from his previous role at Turner Entertainment Europe where he was Channel Manager of Cartoon Network, with responsibility for all programming, acquisitions and development strategies for the UK channel for 2 years.

Prior to this he was Vice President of Programming and Creative Services at Cartoon Network Japan.

Dominic originally joined Turner Entertainment Europe as Director of Programming in 1997 from Flextech where he was a Programme Planner. Dominic is a strategic consultant enabling kids and family focused companies reach the next level in development, production, marketing and distribution.

Sam Knowles, Business Affairs Manager – Rights TV

Sam is a Legal Executive and joined in 2007.  Since then she has worked across a range of genres and clients including on international co-productions – Wide Eyed Entertainment (March of the Dinosaurs), comedy – Little Comet (Pram Face), kids – Tattiemoon (Woolly & Tig), talent – Glorious Talent (Stephen K. Amos), and factual documentaries – Icon Films (River Monsters) and 360 Productions (Titanic). She now works with a number of scripted clients and feature film projects including ‘One Chance’ for The Weinstein Company and ‘The Great Hip Hop Hoax’ for MetFilm.

Prior to joining , Sam worked at ITV Digital Channels, responsible for ITV2 and ITV3 commissions and acquisitions for all digital channels, and previously at the BBC in a number of departments, including Factual and Learning (including BBC Online and Interactive), Radio and News and Entertainment. Sam also worked at Brighter Pictures (now an Endemol company) as a Researcher then Associate Producer and has also produced a short film which is currently being distributed internationally.

Lisa Logan, Partner – Gateley UK

Lisa is an experienced commercial, IP/IT and media lawyer and has spent many years in-house at leading US multinationals such as Disney, Nickelodeon and Discovery Channel. Lisa has wide ranging TV/Film production, distribution, talent, advertising/sponsorship and digital media experience and helps clients protect and exploit their brands. Recent successes have included reviewing and advising on a TV programme commission with a leading broadcaster, its associated distribution agreement with a UK distributor and related talent agreements.

Jon Mason, Director – Jollywise Media

Jollywise was created in 2006 by Jon Mason ex Creative Producer for The Walt Disney Internet Group. The vision was to create great digital content that connected the consumer to the brands we work with in an entertaining way, Fun Sells. We operate predominantly in the entertainment vertical but as more and more brands have looked to engage consumers, we’ve found our experience in this sector has become a great asset. Fun Sells. Our campaigns encompass the full breadth of Digital, from developing UNITY based games for TRON, through to Facebook applications for Winnie the Pooh. And everything in-between. We’re currently working on a new Iphone game for Disney. We’d love to meet some new brands at Kidscreen this year who we can do some fantastic work for.

Dominic Minns, Creative Director – Plug-In Media

Dom is Plug-in Media’s Creative Director and has been leading and developing the company’s interactive digital content for over 12 years. As well as producing his own unique brand of illustration and animation, Dom directs all of Plug-in’s projects, including the BAFTA winning ‘Psychoville Returns’, ‘Big and Small’ and ‘Zingzillas’ sites, and the Kidscreen award winning sites, ‘Octonauts’ and ‘Driver Dan’s Story Train’. He has spoken on conference panels at Inplay, Flash on the beach and CMC and has lectured on game design at the New England Institute of Art and the University of Hertfordshire.

Dom is the founder and Chief Creative Officer of This is Pip, where he oversees the creative development of the company’s IP. Dom is also a musician and has created original music and sound effects for games and interactive music applications. Prior to moving into digital, Dom worked as an art and assistant director.

Mickey Rogers, International Business Development Consultant – Mickey Rogers Media

As a media consultant to independent producers and broadcasters in Canada and internationally, Mickey Rogers’ role has been to dramatically expand her clients’ business opportunities. Her responsibilities include: creation and implementation of content strategies and sales & marketing plans; analysis of domestic and international programming trends with an eye to forecasting future trends; and reviews and assesses programming proposals as a reflection of market demands.

She has written a book on pitching, From Start to Screen and facilitates workshops on marketing your products internationally. Mickey’s clients have included Martha Stewart Omnimedia, Corus Entertainment, Creative Business Wales, most Canadian provincial film/tv/media agencies and Canadian unions such as ACTRA and the Directors Guild.

Prior to incorporating Mickey Rogers Media, she was one of the founding partners of Forefront Entertainment, an award winning vertically integrated production and distribution company. Along with her partners, Mickey grew the company from 200 dollars to a high of 14 million dollars. She established an international distribution company and sold product into over 100 countries internationally.

She was the executive producer/and or distributor of numerous award-winning shows and drama series such as ‘The Magician’s House’, ‘The Adventures of Shirley Holmes’, ‘Madison’, ‘Edgemont’, ‘The 11th Hour’ and ‘These Arms of Mine’. ‘The Magician’s House’, a co-production with Kudos and the BBC, won an International Emmy.

Before forming Forefront Entertainment, Mickey was an award-winning journalist at the CBC. She’s a Lifetime member of Women in Film and TV and has sat on numerous boards in the industry including the Banff International Media Festival.

Angela Salt, Owner – Fun Crew

Angela Salt is a writer, creative consultant and co-owner of Fun Crew Ltd, a Merseyside based independent creative studio she founded with her partner, Stuart Harrison, in 2006. Fun Crew create and develop content for cross platform media. With 20 years combined experience serving clients such as Disney, Nickelodeon, The BBC and DC Thomson their expertise is great character design, story-telling and fantastic, fun ideas!

Angela has worked as a successful illustrator and educator tutoring in illustration, advertising and communication media. She draws on her strong visual design background when creating new ideas for children. As a writer she’s worked in comics, publishing and comedy. She’s the author of three books for Scholastic and is working on a strange and haunting novel for young teens. Angela and Stuart have three kids aged 14, 11 and 5. They live by the seaside in a house partially built from LEGO. 2013 will be their third consecutive trip to Kidscreen and second time being part of the UK@Kidscreen delegation.

Josh Selig, President and Founder – Little Airplane Productions

Josh Selig is the Founder and President of Little Airplane Productions.  He is the Creator of many preschool series including ‘The Wonder Pets!’ on Nick Jr., as well as ‘3rd & Bird’ and ‘Small Potatoes’ on Cbeebies and Disney Junior. Josh has received 10 Emmys for his work on ‘Sesame Street’ and has won a Humanitas Award as Head Writer on Nick Jr.’s ‘Little Bill.’  He also writes a weekly column for Kidscreen called ‘Planet Preschool.’

Karl Woolley, Managing Director – Laughing Gravy Media

Karl has worked in children’s television as a presenter, writer, producer and director for over 15 years. He was managing director of Tell-Tale Productions from 1999 to 2004 in which time the company produced ‘Tweenies’, ‘Boo’, ‘BB3B’, ‘Fun Song Factory’ and a number of live children’s arena tours including ‘Tweenies’ and ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’. Karl has produced and written for Disney UK, Prism Entertainment, Lion Television, DC Thomson, Maggie and Rose, Walker Books and Impossible Kids.

Karl has recently stepped down as managing director of Impossible Kids to form a new company, Laughing Gravy Media, with Jon Doyle who was creative director of Impossible Kids. Whilst working together at Impossible Kids, Karl and Jon made 52 episodes of ‘Buzz and Tell’ for Cbeebies and 52 episodes of ‘Fleabag Monkeyface’ for CITV. They have also secured 2 new commissions for the company, ‘Dinopaws’, a 52 x 11 minute CGI animated series for Cbeebies and ‘Animattter’, a 26 x 30 minute live action CGI series for CITV, which they will manage and executive produce via their new venture, Laughing Gravy Media.
