The hotel will have hair dryers, shampoo, and soap for you so unless you really need something, please leave it at home.Meals –Purchased by the student: 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 3 dinners, snacks, and water. Students need to eat meals and drink water regularly. We recommend bringing $150.00 for food, drinks, and souvenirs. Security – The Fairfield Inn is a secure hotel. Our students have strict rules about leaving their rooms after curfew. The student’s doors and windows will be taped after curfew. If a student leaves their room except for an extreme emergency and breaks curfew, we will follow the rules laid out in the Conduct Pledge.F.Y.I.Chaperones Will:Be available to all participating students at all times.Assist students with kiosk check in at airports.Hold park tickets for students. (Everyone should take a picture of the back of their park ticket. Do NOT sign the tickets unless instructed to do so by a Disney Cast Member.) Disney will only replace lost or stolen passes if you can produce the picture of the pass. Make sure their group stays together.Monitor student behavior. Keep the Director informed of any behavior issues that need to be addressed.Check rooms for damage when we arrive and when we check out.See that students are ON TIME. Including being up for breakfast and ready to depart each day.Conduct “room checks,” “lights out”, and taping doors each evening. Do not retire to your room until you know your students are settled for the night.Be aware of any special medical needs or dietary restrictions as necessary.Encourage students to eat each meal and to drink plenty of water.Ensure the students use the “buddy system” around the hotel and around Disney (bathroom trips, etc.)Be flexible as the itinerary may change.Be prepared to help with rental truck by loading/unloading instruments as needed.Check out students to their parents upon return to Sea-Tac airport.Chaperones will NOT be responsible for:A student’s money. Keep your valuables with you.HOTEL CONDUCT & DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURESHOTEL CONDUCT:Be sure to pull hotel doors all the way closed when entering and exiting the room.Since we are only a small percentage of the guests in the hotel, students must keep the noise level down. There will be no noisy congregating in the halls, room parties, or destruction or misuse of hotel property. Students are not allowed to throw anything from windows, shout to their friends, lean from balconies, play loud music, or disrupt other hotel guests in any way.The hotel will turn off all pay TV channels and long distance telephone services. Adults wanting to use these services must present a credit card with a $50 deposit at the front desk at check in. Room phones are to be used for receiving calls only. No charges can be made to your room or room phone. It is suggested that you bring a cell phone for calls to and from home.See that you lock your hotel room before you go to bed.DO NOT leave valuables or money in your room. If needed, the hotel has safety deposit boxes.DO NOT forget that you are a guest in the hotel and that it is a public place. Never go into the halls unless dressed appropriately. Read fire instructions located in your hotel room and be aware of the hotel procedure.Keep rooms tidy, especially when leaving for the day. All used towels and washcloths should be left on the bathroom floor.DO NOT invite outsiders and/or unregistered guests into your rooms. NO EXCEPTIONS. No non-chaperone adult may go into your room or you into theirs. A chaperone must escort you to the lobby to see any visitors. You are under the care of PLMS and may not be alone at any time on this trip. If you have a visitor/family member meeting you in one of the parks, you must have a written note from a parent in order to leave your group. This must be arranged ahead of time.Never leave money, identification, or other valuable items unattended or in plain sight in your hotel room.IMPORTANT: Any damage to hotel rooms must be settled with the hotel management before we depart. Those students responsible for damage will be required to remit payment at that time.DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES:Chaperones are required to take firm action for any serious misbehavior problems and should contact Mrs. Elder, Ms. Garsson, or Mr. Casper immediately. A student may be sent home at his or her parents’ expense.At the first problem, the student will be given a verbal warning.If there is a second violation a telephone call will be made to the student’s parents to explain the situation.If the problem persists, it may be necessary to have the student return home on the next available flight at his or her parent’s expense.If a very serious violation occurs such as (but not limited to) leaving a room after curfew, or leaving a chaperoned group, the student involved may be returned home immediately at his or her parents’ expense, even if it is the first violation.CONDUCT PLEDGE – Return by Friday, April 7Student Name:_______________________________Destination: Disneyland Performing Arts Teacher: Laura Garsson This field trip is designed to give students an educational, cultural, and social experience.
