WFM MW Grocery 2015 Promotional OpportunitiesAs the Organic and Natural Foods market grows, the retail landscape becomes more competitive. We are committed to promoting our Value Image at Whole Foods Market and we are looking to the vendor community for support with this goal through mutually beneficial promotional programs. We have an excellent National AD Program in which many vendors already participate. The opportunities outlined here act as a supplement to the national foundation and allow us to create a plan tailored to our markets and our store needs. The idea is not to compete with what we are doing nationally, but rather to augment it. The best way to build your business with us is to run quarterly promotions. All promotions must have a minimum discount of 15%. All promotional submissions are due according to the promotional deadline calendar. See below for the specific details of our promotions.Shelf Special (TPR)15% minimum reduction in cost requiredSale runs the length of both the “A” and “B” promotional cycleSmallest reduction in retail priceThere are no preorders on Shelf Special ItemsShelf Specials are accepted and run based on region wide distribution/movement and competing promotional activity in the category, among other factorsMarket Special (Shelf Special + Flyer Placement)15% minimum reduction in cost requiredSale runs the length of both the “A” and “B” promotional cycle$2,500 investment with flyer placement- picture of product and sale price goes into flyer that is distributed in all stores and via electronic communicationWhile the item will stay on sale for the length of the promo month, the item will only be featured in the flyer for either the A or B period only.Larger reduction in retail discountNo off-shelf placement directed by the Regional Support Team. An invoice in the sum of $2,000 will be issued to the supplier Once payment is received, we direct the teams to purchase the prizes for the individual store.Contest criteria must be approved by Grocery Purchasing in advance.Medium reduction in retail discount Off-shelf placement guaranteed for all dry Grocery Stores are required to make preorders on accepted Contest items Availability is limited. Contest items will be selected by the Regional Grocery Purchasing Team.
