GRANT PROGRAMS

General Program Support

Provides general program support for Florida non-profit organizations engaging in cultural programming such as history museums, science museums, youth and children's museums, art museums, local arts agencies, state service organizations, performing art centers, orchestras, dance companies, theater groups and other disciplinebased organizations to promote access, diversity and excellence in cultural activities.

Award: up to $150,000

Annual application deadline: June l

Specific Cultural Project

Provides funding for special cultural project grants for nonprofit Florida corporations, local or state government, entities such as school districts, community colleges, colleges, universities, museums and local arts agencies for activities in arts education and arts and cultural disciplines.

Award: up to $25,000

Annual application deadline: June l.

Fast Track

Provides expedited access to funds supporting small organizations through arts and cultural projects including, but not limited to, artist residencies, performances or exhibitions.

Award: $1,000 to $2,500

Application deadlines: March 12 and September 12

Cultural Facilities

Coordinates and guides state support for acquisition, renovation or construction of cultural facilities such as performing art centers and museums

Award: up to $500,000

Annual application deadline: June 1

Cultural Endowment

Provides endowment matching funds that will provide programming resources from interest earned to participating cultural organizations. Comprised of two components: Cultural Sponsoring Organization (CSO) designation and receipt of a $240,000 State Matching Share (SMS). Although both parts require the submission of application material, each contains eligibility criteria that are unique to the components.

The Mission of the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs is to advance, support and promote arts and culture to strengthen the economy and quality of life for all Floridians.

Who We Are The Florida Division of Cultural Affairs is Florida's state arts agency. We believe Culture Builds Florida. Arts and culture support jobs, tourism and education while contributing to a vibrant and creative Florida. To promote excellence and encourage access to cultural opportunities, the Division provides funding, programs and resources including grants for: arts in education, local arts agencies, state service organizations, museums, theater, dance, folks arts, literature, media arts, multidisciplinary, music, sponsor/presenter, and visual arts programs and projects.

What We Do Since 1969, the Division has connected cultural funding opportunities and services to Florida's citizens and visitors. The Florida Legislature and National Endowment for the Arts provide funding for the Division.

Florida Council on Arts and Culture approves panel recommendations.

Secretary of State submits approved recommendations to Florida legislature.

The Florida Department of State's Division of Cultural Affairs is Florida's legislatively designated state arts agency. The Division promotes the arts and culture as essential to quality of life for all Floridians. To achieve its mission, the Division funds and supports cultural programs that provide artistic excellence, diversity, education, access and economic vitality for Florida's communities.
