What to Bring to One-Day Social Officer Intensive:

v 1 motivational game idea v 1 team party idea v New team list with birthdays and

squads/companies v Football schedule for this fall v Dates for any team events scheduled v Large foam board v Supplies for creating puzzle project

v Any creative supplies you may need...

o Markers o Scissors o Glue o Pencils & erasers o Ruler o Team Photos or Logos o Poster boards o Any theme decorations

Seminar #1: "What is your piece of the puzzle?" v We will discuss the specifics of their role on the team v How are they different from dance/military officers? v What can you take from the new social officers and build upon or learn from?

Seminar #2: "How does it all FIT together? v Discuss the importance of a year-long calendar and planning ahead v Discuss important party planning tips

o Plan ahead

o Always check with director before making any plans

o Organize all key points: Place, Time, Cost

o Keep all members informed in a timely manner. NO LAST MINUTE

CHANGES! (Or do your best not to!) v Discuss the importance of motivation and motivational activities on the team. v How often should you plan motivational activities? v Make sure to put positive spin on all activities v What do we need to do as an officer line to bring back what was lost over last year? v What traditions were lost that need to return?

Seminar #3: "How do we fit into the BIG picture?" v Discuss the importance of promoting your team

o Does your team have a website/social media platform? o Who is responsible for website? Social media? o What are rules and guidelines for teammates on social media? v Team History

o Does your team have a scrapbook? o Who is responsible for taking pictures?

o Will your book have a theme? Your year have a theme? o Will you allow team members to contribute to the book? o When do you want it to be completed by? v Opposing team gifts o Discuss the importance of sportsmanship amongst your team o Does you district have any rules against bringing a team gift to exchange? v Discuss a budget for each week's gifts. v Team spirit gifts o How often should you exchange gifts? o If you have big/lil sisters, how often do you exchange? Is there a price limit? Do

you plan ahead or give themes for gift ideas? o Candy grams ? cheap, motivational gift for football games v Community Service Projects o Unique ways you can `give back' to your community o Make donations for a cause in lieu of opposing team gifts o Awareness performance at pep rally (Kick for Kindness, etc)

Seminar 4: "We are all different but fit together perfectly" v Goals for the year v Why did you decide to become a social officer? Find your WHY! o Start Strong, Finish Strong o What can you do to stay motivated after football season? o How can you work with your director to ensure her goals and your social officer line goals are accomplished? v Create your social officer puzzle! o As an officer line ? create your "puzzle" with your foam board. o Write your name and how you plan to contribute to the officer line. o You can add to your puzzle through the year! o Even though you are all different ? you fit together PERFECTLY! o At end of the season, you will sit together and read through your jar!

Supplies Needed for Puzzle Project ? Dollar store puzzles (at least 100 pieces)

? School or favorite colors paint (you can paint pieces in advance of camp)

? Newspaper (to paint puzzle pieces on)

? Hot glue gun

? Ribbon to match o Sparkle, solid, fun prints

? Cardboard for heart frame

? Sharpie Marker

**You will use sharpie marker to each write goals, aspirations and anything that you will contribute to year on puzzle pieces before you glue it in the shape.

**You can choose any shape for your hanging project.
