(Valley Forge, Pa.) – The CertainTeed® Apollo® Solar Roofing System will be featured on “Designing Spaces™,” a half-hour-long, national home improvement show on Lifetime® Television. The program is scheduled to air on Friday, March 1 at 7:30 a.m., as part of the “Think Green” series.

“We are excited to show homeowners a real-world example of how solar power can help them take control of their electricity needs and reduce their carbon footprint,” says Mark Stancroff, director of CertainTeed Solar. “Apollo truly provides an aesthetically-pleasing, sustainable energy solution.”

Katy Collardson, technical supervisor for the CertainTeed Solar, will give expert advice on economical residential solar power, as well as showcase how Apollo photovoltaic (PV) panels can be seamlessly integrated into existing asphalt or tile roofs.

The featured home is located in a community by Vintage Builders of Shreveport, La. Contractor Ranger Development of Monroe, La. installed the 2.6 kW, 60-panel Apollo roofing system along with Landmark™ asphalt shingles in Weathered Wood, a grey brown color that replicates the look of aged cedar shake. The shingles were manufactured and supplied by the nearby Shreveport CertainTeed roofing plant.

During the segment, viewers can see how Apollo fully integrates with roofing shingles for a clean, seamless appearance not found with rack-mounted systems. They are also treated to an up-close look at how the low profile design visually blends with surrounding shingles. In addition, the homeowner tells their sustainable solar roofing story.
