Doctoral Scholarship on Gambling - 2021-2022

Description

Concordia University's Research Chair on Gambling, funded by the FRQ-SC and the Fondation Mise-sur-toi, offers an annual Scholarship at the Doctoral level. This award seeks to encourage graduate research in the field of gambling, under the aegis of the Research Chair. The research must be focused one of the following thematic poles: (i) gambling and social inequalities; (ii) gambling, digitalization & cyberspace.

Value and duration

The Scholarship can begin in January, May, or September. Its duration is 12 months, but award holders may re-apply annually (for up to 24 months). The value of the Scholarship is $17,000 and can be combined with an award from any external granting agency.

Eligibility

Candidates must hold a Master's degree. Candidates must be full-time students who are either continuing their Doctoral program or who have been admitted into a Doctoral program. First year Ph.D. students will be given priority. Candidates must be supervised or co-supervised by a researcher affiliated to the Research Chair on Gambling. International candidates are responsible for obtaining the proper documents for their stay in Quebec.

Application procedure

Candidates must submit the following: ? Letter of interest (2 pages) stating the reason for applying for a Scholarship at the Research Chair; ? Research proposal (3 pages) elaborating on the research project, expected outcomes and deliverables; ? Official transcripts; ? Curriculum vitae; ? Copy of the letter of acceptance to the Doctoral program or proof of registration; ? Two reference letters.
