Autism and the Feingold Diet
Today, there are many techniques that are being used to help
children recover from autism.
B
ack when some doctors were blaming parents for their child¡¯s au$sm, Dr.
Bernard Rimland was proving that it was primarily a biochemical problem
and the symptoms could be alleviated. His Au$sm Research Ins$tute (ARI) was
the resource where families could go for informa$on and support, and in turn,
they provided Dr. Rimland with valuable feedback about the interven$ons that
worked best for them.
Beginning in 1967, the ARI began collec$ng data from thousands of families and
asked parents to rate three categories of interven$ons they had used for their
children: drugs, nutrients/supplements and diet.
