This is the Department of the Treasury's (Treasury) final rfsponse to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request dated March 3, 2014, in which :1ou requested "copies of each weekly DO FOIA backlog report emails from 2012 to present."

Your request has been processed under the provisions of the FOi.A, 5 U.S.C. ? 552. A search of Treasury files located 134 responsive pages. After carefully considering these records, I have determined that 66 pages will be released in their entirety. Portior s of 68 pages will be withheld pursuant to Exemption 6 of the FOIA as described below. Please note that attachments have not been included as part of this response. If you are interested in receiving a specific attachment, please contact this office at the address below.

FOIA Exemption 6 exempts from disclosure personnel or med cal files and similar files the release of which would cause a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy. This requires a balancing of the public ' s right to disclosure against the individual' :; right to privacy. The privacy interests of the individuals in the records you have requested l)Utweigh any minimal public interest in disclosure of the information. Any private interest you may have in that information does not factor into the aforementioned balancing test.

If you are dissatisfied with the Department's action on your request, you may appeal within thirty-five (35) days of the date of this letter. Your appeal must be in writing, signed by you or your representative, should contain the rationale for the appeal, and should cite the FOIA reference number noted above.
